Looks like DJ called Doc and the clippers and toold them about the second thought. Not the other way around.

Huge dick move by DJ to the mavs if true

If DeAndre bails on the Clippers then does Wes Matthews go somewhere else too?

Cuban said he wanted to tank if he didn't get DeAndre.

It would hurt DA's and the Clippers reputations. Not the agents.

No one would do business with an agent who on a whim can convince someone to go elsewhere after making a promise. Jordan's agents rep is on the line here.

If he is representing a client that is in high demand teams would careless about what DJ did. All he has to day is that he respects the decisions his clients make.

Doesn't work that way man, Jordan gave Dallas a verbal yes. He goes back on that, Jordan and his agent will be in rough shape going forward, no matter how little influence his agent had over this. It sounds like Jordan called Doc, so basically everyone went above the agent, which isn't a good look b/c it shows how little control he has over his client.

Fegan stands to lose the most, Jordan will get paid either way but if he goes back to Dallas, I don't see Cubes doing business with him.

Lets look at some more insight on this situation...

I really think this is all Doc Rivers fault, first Ray Allen leaves and then now DJ? hmmmmmmmm

Better team.
More money.
In Los Angeles.

With DJ on the mavs, Thats doubtful/debatable. Plus the mavs offer him more of a role on offense and to be "the guy". Guys always get attached to those things. Thats what you dream off when growing up.

Naw, Clippers with Jordan are better than Mavs with Jordan. Neither is really in the top group of Western conference teams, though - not with the Warriors (we'll see how much the loss of Lee hurts, if at all), Memphis, San Antonio with Aldridge, and OKC with a decent coach.

The Clippers with Jordan are a playoff lock... can't say that about the Mavs with Jordan, relying on Devin Harris and Barea at PG, Matthews off an injury at SG and the aging Dirk. Not with the Rockets and Pelicans pretty much playoff locks, and a bunch of other teams with talent enough to compete.

But, on the Clipps he'll be the #3 guy on offense, at best, maybe #4 with Pierce brought in, and given how much ball goes to Reddick and Crawford. With Dallas, he can be more or less the #2 guy on a team where there really isn't an established pecking order given Dirk's decline.

That extra 20 mil. or so the Clippers can offer him probably caused him to have second thoughts.

It was worse. Boozer talked the Cavs into not extending the QO by promising that he'd re-sign for the MLE. Then he left for more money.

And for his disloyalty, he was condemned to live the rest of his life with a dreaded stain of shame upon his head:

Dude

If Cuban shows up in a club and one of DeAndre's boys tells him to f**k off DJ's signing with the Clips, then Cuban has a temper tantrum in the middle of the club like how it happened in Entourage.

that's a good point. That's also probably the statement that gave DJ second thoughts.

DJ has 30 million more reasons why to go back to the Clippers. Other than that Los Angeles is a hell hole

http://thelawdictionary.org/article/is-a-verbal-agreement-legally-binding/
"Verbal agreements and oral contracts are generally valid and legally binding as long as they are reasonable, equitable, conscionable and made in good faith."

I can't even fathom the potential lawsuits that could result from Jordan reneging. So many moves made as a result of Jordan agreeing to this.
