Are Tim Duncan and Lebron bad guys because many many teams cleared cap space just to have a remote shot at them in free agency when they hit it in their absolute prime?

Is Chris Bosh a bad guy because Houston dumped Asik and Lin and then he spurned them at the last minute after giving them much more favorable feedback than LMA just gave Phoenix?

What about Deron and the Mavs? btw thank goodness we dodged that one, but we wasted a whole year of the end of Dirk's prime hoping to sign him to a max deal.

This is why I thought this was some personal ax to grind. Because this situation isn't remotely unique to LMA and Phoenix already wanted to separate the Morris brothers so that deal likely happens anyway.

This is 100% on the teams when they make moves like this and again in the Suns case I don't think that deal had much of anything to do with LMA. And he shouldn't feel bad at all.

There's a major difference between teams making moves before you're even allowed to talk to them and teams making moves immediately after they officially talk to you and ask you to sign a deal. C'mon now.

The Suns moves were beforehand. The Spurs I believe did the same.

I don't think so:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2513300-marcus-morris-reggie-bullock-and-danny-granger-reportedly-traded-to-pistons

Not saying the Suns didn't make any moves before Aldridge, but the jettisoning of other talent came in response to Aldridge's interest.

You're right that the Spurs traded Splitter before their meeting though, and that's a strong point. If it were only them, I wouldn't have raised a stink, and yet the principle might have been no different.

I have to admit to being in a situation where I don't think highly of either the Suns' or Aldridge's respective wherewithals.

The Suns moves though weren't LMA motivated to me. They were "get off our team" motivated. The twins aren't wanted there for a ton of reasons and they still want to move Kieff. Don't know if you knew of all the problems, I'll find the link I had posted a little while ago.

Before I say anything else though, let me just ask people, particularly those who found the RealGM PC board in the past few years when it already had the reputation it has now, how did you get here? Not simply to RealGM, but to this board.

And then as you reflect on that, how would things have been different if the PC board had a higher barrier to entry?

I first found it when I saw some great posts by ElGee, drza and fatal9 linked on another board, and was interested in the community from the offset (based on the content, quality of posting, lack of trolling, etc.). If there was an entry requirement, I don't think it would have deterred me from posting since I was sold pretty quickly, but I do understand that point (and it can be frustrating I'm sure if one reads a post, and has valuable insights, but is unable to reply).

I was just a bit frustrated I guess, but the same few PBP don't last very long as it is, so I shouldn't mind it too much. Even if 4-5 guys manage to create new usernames every few weeks, the mods here do a great job of sniffing them out, and they should be easy to ignore that they won't become disruptive.

Sorry for causing any confusion. As I said, you guys do a terrific job here. I completely understand why instituting a barrier of some sort would negatively impact the community/discussion.

I had posted on other forums (mostly the Blazer forum, but sometimes in the General Board), when I decided to pay this forum a visit. It didn't take long before I knew I'd stick around after reading a few threads.

By the way, how did you make your avatar, fpliii? I'd like to have a similar one of rotating images.

Nothing too elaborate. I think I used:

picresize.com - to crop/resize
gifmaker.me - to created the gif
ezgif.com/resize - to resize to get under the max filesize (you might be able to make the actual gif on here as well)
Now that's the difference between first and last place.

I blame Doc and DJ equally to be honest. Doc and the Clippers reached out to him but DJ has to entertain them on the other end of this.

Both DJ and the Clips look bad if he decides to go back. It already is bad with another reported meeting between the Clippers and DJ. There so many dominoes that have fallen because of DJ's decision and you really shouldn't be able to get an "undo" option on this.

I hope for Mavs' fans sake he keeps his commitment like a man.

Paulie,

Yeah I see how that's confusing. I was referring to our Doc, Doctor MJ who is really upset with LMA. I was pointing out that this by Jordan (and the Clippers) is definitely worse.

Doesnt really mean a lot, they are basically either almost contenders or 1st round outs depending on DJ.

Of course they'll say they are confident theres nothing else that it would make sense for them to say.

I don't know. To me it seems like he's not going to Dallas but I hope I am wrong.

Yeah, he's staying in LA IMO.

Sounds like he was the one who initiated the whole process.

It's also quite entertaining for Neutral fans, you got Doc and Cuban coming to houston, Paul and griffin planning to meet him, Parsons flying in, and then immediately thereafter Reddick is gonna drive his car there or something. Ekpe Udoh is just tweeting his reactions to this whole deal.

It's a circus.
