Michael Eaves @michaeleaves
Source close to #Clippers tells me that DJ reached out to Doc Monday night saying that he made a mistake, which triggered chain of events

So does Cuban deal Dirk to San Antonio, Golden State, or OKC to make it even harder for LAC to come out of West, and to help the Dallas tank?

Mavs seems like a classy organization, doubt they will do that.

Fully expected this from the Clippers.

Someone please give me a quick rundown of their roster without DJ.

C - None on roster
PF - Dirk / Villanueva / Evans / Powell
SF - Parsons (hurt) / Jefferson / Evans
SG - Matthews (hurt) / Harris / Anderson
PG - Barea / Harris / Felton

Matthews turned down the Kings' offer because he wanted to join DeAndre in Dallas. Don't be surprised if Matthews also backs out of his agreement and calls up the Kings to get the 4/$80M they reportedly offered him.

Mathews doesn't seem like the bonehead that would do that kind of move to a team, but who knows with this stupidity.

Dan wants his 3% out of the clippers' $110M and not out of the Mavs' $80M.

Is your rep as an agent really worth the extra $900K he'll get if he signs the Clippers deal?

It isn't a coincident that this happened to 2 players he represents.

Then where does Rondo go? Not that I care but Kings wouldn't have the money they promised him.

UtahJazzFan88 wrote:Really though, how can anyone say the Clippers did wrong? Jordan's the weak-minded sissy here. Though the Clippers need him to resign, he's not putting them over the top of a healthy Spurs, Thunder, or Warriors team.

Total crap move, but personally I think the Mavs are dodging a bullet for their future, no need to be a 6-7 West seed every single year when it's the perfect time to tank.

I don't know, The Clippers seem like the type of team that can beat anyone. I don't see how the Thunder are clearly better than them, they were pretty much even in their series more or less, and Durant is now coming off a major injury. I'd favor GSW and SA because they have more depth relative to OKC, OKC is about equal with LAC if they are healthy.

If Paul Pierce is at least as good as he was this year, the Clippers could reasonably beat any team. They'll still have the fundamental weakness of having a very weak bench which makes their margin for error high, but if their best players are on top of their game they can win any series.

People over look this, but the Clippers did have the best starting 5 in the league in 2015, and they've replaced Matt Barnes with Paul Pierce now.

Idk why everybody blames DJ, what if Cuban promised to DJ that they would sign with LMA and a legit PG and they will be a contender. I don't see any reason to left $30M on the table for this Treadmill Mavs team.

Another aspect of this is Wes' contract. Although they said that we wanted him either way, I don't think they really meant it. It was a preemptive move to get Jordan. Now, if Jordan goes back to the Clippers, why would we give that contract to Matthews? But if we don't, how can we say anything bad about the Clippers or Jordan? So DJ really puts our organization in a very tough spot, and in more than one ways if he goes through with this.

The way these Clipper players are clowning around, makes me think they already know something....

Not sure why Parsons is clowning around with them...

Actually Rondo would still fit, but their other 2 signings (Koufos & Belinelli) wouldn't. I have a hard time seeing the Kings back out of those deals.

This should be moot, though, as Matthews committed to Dallas BEFORE Jordan did.
