Duncan might not play more 18-20 mpg during the regular season.

After losing Baynes and Splitter, who is going to play Center outside of Duncan? They have 33yo Diaw and 35yo Bonner.

i would think adridge and west could cover it for the meantime.
They'll be able to get an older ring chasing center for a minimum league during the season

They apparently are trading for David Lee now. WTF. they can play 5 PF's. Maybe instead of small ball, danny thought it was players who play small?

What a disaster in Boston.

Maybe Ryan McDonough was his John Hammond.

Boston made the playoffs last year and I think returning all their starters . I think their coach and system has the right plan to build a contender what I doubt is that they have the talent. There squad is full of potential but no sure thing all stars

Detroit vs Everybody
Yeah, they made the playoffs, last year.Teams that will make the playoffs this year;

Detroit
Miami
Pacers

Possible;

Magic
Hornets

Where does that leave the Celtics? Unless danny makes some trades, they are screwed sideways.

Something always happens and teams we expect to be good aren't. Celtics won something like 17-3 to get into playoffs. They are a decent team but not great. Your underselling them

Interesting...

Time will tell but I believe Ainge has another future GM under his watch.

I get it, I really do. The east was a train wreck last year though, and during that 17-3 streak, how many crap, or disfunctional teams did they beat?

I just feel, that a bunch of wins they got last year, are going to be losses. Take 5 away, this year they miss the playoffs for sure.

Brooklyn is NOT making the playoffs this year, so there's that.

I'm calling it right here right now, LBJ-Melo-CP3-Wade team up on the Clippers next summer.

All the Clippers have under contract for next year is CP3 - Redick - Blake, they should likely be able to dump Redick easily into cap space on a $7 mil expiring, the Knicks would gladly trade Melo for Blake, Wade and Lebron will be free agents. Lebron wants to be a movie star, CP3 + Melo want to be able to have rings and Wade has already planted the seeds of leaving.

You mean against mostly non-NBA players?

Better off keeping Blake over Melo, Paul-Lebron-Blake would be the way to go there. If Bron gets his Cleveland ring this year, I wouldn't be completely surprised if he left BUT is would be a huge dick move to do so after everybody else is signing big long term contracts to be there and he bolts on them.

Hmm. Supposedly the Clippers are trying to get Jordan to change his mind about joining Dallas.

That seems like a real breach in decorum and unwritten rules of the business, and something that will really damage the reputation of the agency if Jordan actually does a reversal.

Very interesting to see how that plays out.

It wouldn't be the first time this has happened. Hedo Turkoglu pulled out of a Trailblazers deal to sign with Toronto years ago.

^True, but not to this level. Hedo was very good in his prime, but this is big time money between two contenders here.

In the very least this will be the end of the silly embargo/moratorium you can surely bet. Also Cuban wants to go full on tank mode - we should try for Chandler Parsons.

I also don't remember the Raptors aggressively working the change of heart the way the Clippers are right now.

Of course, I didn't remember that happening at all until Heinsenberg reminded me of it, so my memory apparently isn't all that reliable.

It sets a dangerous precedent too, and really screws the Mavs. They stopped looking for a big man after Jordan signed, and a couple they'd have surely been interested in (Lopez, Koufos) committed. No sir, I don't like it....

I haven't checked, but I'm betting Mavericks fans are steaming over this possibility. I sure would be.

Hedo was a free agent, coming off the Magic's finals run. So, his incumbent team wasn't pining after him, as they made a trade for Vince Carter prior to FA opening.

Reports were that the Clippers bypassed the agency completely after DeAndre called Doc on Monday. The agent/agency isn't involved at this point. Pretty sure DeAndre and the agent cut ties after this finishes, regardless of which team he chooses.

Very interesting information. You would pretty much have to cut ties to save face.
