It changes nothing. Tyson is an adult, DJ is a spoiled brat.

SSOL wrote:Wow. For the record, I have zero issue with coaching at the high school level...wow. I asked a question as to whether someone was claiming to know more than others, in terms of player evaluation, because they coach at that level. It was a legitimate question and was not meant as an insult.

JMac also apparently claimed that I "put down people and players like dogs." Huh? I wasn't even in the discussion regarding your analysis, all I did was ask a question.

Let's not muddy this thread with incoherent negative rhetoric.

I didn't mean you specifically calling someone a dog. And I was not challenging anyone's evaluation of BBall players......that is the last thing I will do. Basketball is not my sport.

Cool. Let's just agree to move on. Have nothing against you. This is an internet board, nothing serious.

Sonny Weems? Eh. He's not exactly young (29), spent the last few years in Europe, and his shot was garbage in the NBA.

Anyone know what his defense is like? If he can defend on the wing, I'll warm up to the signing, but if he's just a scorer, I'm not in love with it.

I love Sonny, unselfish guy, good passer

straight up baller

became an actual Euro star really

might make Tucker a tiny bit more extendable

Not exactly tripping over myself to be happy at the Weems signing, but you gotta fill up the roster somehow, seeing as how we're way below the full roster count. Seems like better than your average depth, if a little pricey. Wonder if we got second year as a team option?

Really hope he's like PJ in that his 3p% improvement in Europe actually means he'll be able to hit them here, in which case I really can't be too annoyed.

He was one of the best player in Euroleague the last few years, he is really good and I think this is an steal by McDonough. His contract is really cheap.

agreed, I honestly wish it was a three year deal, guy has a lot of game and that contract is great

he could be a more versatile Gerald minus the selfishness and utter stupidness

You don't talk to me that way! I'm a Division Manager in charge of 49 people! I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!

Sorry - that's all I could think of based on the last few pages...

Sonny Weems!

Doing some research on Weems. Seemed to be a serviceable defender coming out of college. Shot 39% from the Euro three. Considered a team leader in Moscow. Star in Europe.

Looks like he will be a solid player and a good citizen. Would likely provide leadership in the locker room. To me, he fills the Gerald Green role, not the PJ Tucker role.

Any other options out there in FA?

When I asked this question, I certainly wasn't thinking of Sonny Weems(legitimately forgot he existed), but sure. Cheap, defends, shot really well in Europe, can dunk.

Looks like we found our new Gerald Green?

Do not understand the Weems signing. You sign a sg/sf that has not been in the NBA for years when your biggest weakness is the power forward spot? There has to be something else happening in addition to this.

We needed a cheap shooter. We signed one.

Now if this is the end of our offseason, then yeah, WTF. But this is a fine signing.
