I love Romo, but do the two trophies represent his total playoff wins?

lol at this point we're way past what the GB casuals think, half of you enter this thread with the preconceived notion of "lol of course it's the Clippers". We've actually done a good job of respecting the Mavs fans rage and "you'll never get past the 2nd round" sort of comments from them, I thought.

I'm hoping someone makes a spoof video of this situation. Something like this:

I've backed out of accepting a job twice, no one really cares. Counter offers are normal.

This is also true though.

Cuban hasn't gotten there yet though.

As a clippers fan, I am making a "choose your own adventure" post:

A) if DeAndre comes back: Thank God DeAndre, you make our team! We welcome you with open arms. You are the best center in the league. We appreciate and love you DeAndre and we'll never let you forget it!!

B) if DeAndre doesn't come back: Don't really care. He is really overrated and we can replace what we need from him with a vet min player like J McGee. He is the most expensive role player in the league. Thank God Cuban has saved us from making a terrible mistake!

Not sure if they did that or not, but doing that based on a verbal commitment is really dumb. In real world the percentage of people who accept counter offers is actually quite high, no one should think they've hired someone until they show up for work.

In the real world most of us don't give verbal commitments to employers and then back out. That's not a good look or an acceptable practice. Once you get an offer from a company you are under no obligation to verbally accept the offer. In most cases you are given some time to accept or reject the offer.

This just isn't reality in the professional world. Most people don't receive counter offers, but for those who did, the number who accept them is fairly high, around %50 IIRC.

I think DJ himself had second guessed his decision.. and probably spoke with CP and Co behind close doors, to make it seem like he was convinced to go, rather than he welched on the agreement. Not that the former looks any better

Ken Berger @KBergCBS
Ripple effect if DeAndre Jordan backs out on Mavs are widespread. Multiple deals were done -- and not done -- based on his commitment.

Ken Berger @KBergCBS
For example, Mavs had Hibbert trade lined up before Jordan committed, source says. Hibbert headed to Lakers. But if DJ backs out, what then?

I disagree and feel Clippers fans have a right to disagree also.

To be fair lots of Clippers fans are acknowledging this situation sucks and they aren't thrilled about how its going down. But in the end its hard for any of us to not attempt to justify that which benefits us. I know I'd be a hypocrite if I said any different.

I think your viewpoints, as well as those of the Clippers fans are valid and worth hearing. People should have a right to defend their team rationally or emotionally. I like it when we encourage people to speak their mind, not trash talk them into a corner. I just don't like it when people say "such a such a fanbase has no right to speak on this." That's ridiculous. Free speech. Anyway it's a silly forum. I mean that's what this forum exists for: passionate fans, not dull neutrality.

Lastly, as I have said, I think Jordan and the Clippers are being unduly criticized (though the root of the complaint is certainly understandable). Mavs would have good reason to criticize Jordan and the Clippers. But, Clippers would have some legitimate reasons to defend their team. Allow everyone to speak for goodness sake.
think peaceful thoughts :meditate:

The worst thing about it is, a lot of players have agreed elsewhere. He'd really be screwing Dallas here

I am not a fan of either team. But it seems to me that if your client leaves tens of millions on the table to go to another team, he better be perfectly comfortable and clear that that is what he wants to do. If he is having doubts, you have not done your job as an agent.

If the Clips are offering a home team max, or even just more than Dallas, I don't blame DJ one bit. Its his right to decide. Its the way free agency goes. The Suns lost out on lots of free agents in the pursuit of LMA. Can't cry about it.
