I like it. Great influence and second year option makes him a good trade chip next summer if needed.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Its fine. Its a little more than he's worth, but the fact that the second year isn't guaranteed makes that pretty much inconsequential.

Smart move. Not earthshaking, but sound in just about every way.

I like it. He's tough and plays good defense. He's a better defender than Drummond right now. He can defend 4's and 5's. Will be a good matchup option to have off the bench. If that's it, I'm happy with this team and the offseason.

Almost a "no brainer." Joel is a great teammate and an extremely professional role player. Knows his role and always plays within himself. Good guy for this young team to have around.
