Honestly if DeAndre wants to meet with the Mavs then he would have already. He wouldn't allowed himself to be "trapped" by his teammates.

it looks like he is being a coward and hiding behind his teammates and try to use that as an excuse.

It was over as soon as he called Doc and had second thoughts.

For doing nothing illegal or against the NBA rules?

Just because it isn't technically prescribed by the rules doesn't mean it isn't harmful to the league. I'm sure there are umbrella clauses that deal with these unexpected occasions.

To be fair, the Clippers haven't done anything illegal and neither has Jordan, since no contracts have been signed, but the fact remains that the Mavs have been screwed! They could have used the money they committed to Jordan on another player who agreed to sign with another team while they thought they had Jordan. The NBA needs to take care of this problem, and should also give the Mavs some compensation. Maybe give them a lottery pick next year or something.

Clippers lobbying to change DeAndre Jordan's decision, CP3 & Co. to meet with...

Post#1389 » by madmaxmedia » Thu Jul 9, 2015 1:13 am

Ramona is saying that DJ called Blake and told him he was getting second thoughts, and that's how the ball got rolling. If that is what happened, then my sympathies to the Mavs but I don't think the Clippers did anything that bad.

I wish there was a Meerkat stream from DJ's house right now-

Actually, DJ has a contract with his agent and if they are in any way preventing DJ's agent from communicating with him, they're going to have issues.

If there was some health reason or spousal ultimatum.. as in Jordan staying in Clippers will save his marriage (just an example)... Deandre Jordan reneging from the Mavs is bush league....

My sources tell me that Cuban is planning a HALO jump that should have him landing on DJ's roof right at 11:59 PM. At that moment Dirk cuts the power to the house and Cuban enters through that part of the roof being repaired wearing night vision goggles and carrying a rifle filled with enough tranquilizers to bring down a rhino. Cuban takes out the Clippers representatives and Parsons jumps through the back bay window on a horse where he'll grab DJ and they'll ride off to safety where the contract is waiting.

Why didn't they just take the contract and a pen with them?

Another take:

Good job DeAndre. One less competitor in the west to deal with. You still have a few days. See if you can get Golden State to trade away Bogut now.

I'm picturing Mark Cuban and Chandler Parsons furiously pounding on the door to DeAndre's house while Rivers and Paul block the door. Meanwhile, inside, Blake Griffin is playing NBA2K with Jordan, deliberately allowing the offense to flow through him and commenting on how much better the Clippers are on 2K than the Mavs.
