This is embarrassing

Well, never again will I root for DJ and/or the Clippers.

Going back on his word was one thing, what excuse is there for this cowardly behavior?

Have the decency to man up and meet Cuban/Parsons to tell them he's out.

Chandler Parsons was just sent on that Sunday morning walk of shape. Oh what a pity!

So now that DJ is back with the Clippers what do people think the Clippers are going to do next year? I think their ceiling remains the same. Get a top 4 seed and lose in the 1st or 2nd round depending upon the match-up. They can make the WCF if they really get the right breaks but I don't see them beating GSW, OKC, or the Spurs in the WCF.

It's a shame what DJ has done. I wonder if he will come to regret it.

Color me unsurprised that Blake Griffin came through with another dirtbag move.

It's become abundantly clear to me that Griffin and I have completely different senses of humor.

PockyCandy wrote:I'm not sure how to phrase this thought, but I was wondering something while reading the AD shooting 3s thread.

So the philosophy of most modern NBA teams goes something like this:

Even if a super elite mid-range shooter hits 50% of his midrange shots (A guy like Al Horford), that's still not as efficient as shooting 34% from three, which most guards can do. And since most players only shoot in the high 30's from midrange and the mid 30s from three, there's even less of a reason to shoot those shots. So basically, I've heard the many people say that you should never shoot mid-range shots, because 3 > 2, that a shot 17 feet from the rim is still only worth 2 points but is harder to make, and that the only shots taken should be shots at the rim and 3 pointers.

It makes perfect sense................but don't some of you kind of wish that teams would still tell their players to take some shots from that area if your open (as long as it's not within one or two feet of the line, because even I hate those shots), just for variety. I mean, it's kind of boring watching the same high PnR with the result being either a shot at the rim or a shot 25 feet away (Obviously, there are exceptions like SA, ATL, Memphis, etc.).

Sorry for the long and rambling post.

Heck, that's all Washington's backcourt seems to shoot. I know Beal ends up with a lot of threes, but all my memories seem to be of him and Wall stopping inside the 3 point line and shooting a long two (frequently an open one but still . . . ). Used to think it was Sam Cassell's influence but now realize Randy Wittman is just counterprogramming against the current trends.

To be fair, in the playoffs, there was more modern 4 out basketball being played.

At best I found it tone deaf. But it sure seems like he's rubbing it in, which doesn't surprise me given his behavior up to this point.

yeah one thing that really disappoints me is that the President of the Players Association and a long-term respected NBA lifer like Doc--neither one of them told DeAndre--you got to be a man and pick up the phone and talk to Mark. Heck, Ballmer too for that matter.

Its one thing for DeAndre to be immature and scared to face up to the situation he created. No sympathy from me, but the "adults" in the compound should have pressed him to. Or at least let Fegan in the house to call them.

There really isn't an excuse for that. None. I wonder how all hte other players effected felt about their President acting in his self interest in a way that cost some of them money and better opportunity and potentially will have wide-ranging impact on them down the road.

Chris Paul deserves some of the disdain here.

And what really sucks is how many other guys it works on too. Would Lopez be signing in NY? Hibbert traded to LA? Heck Kanter may have gotten an offer from someone even.

Considering NY got RoLo to agree with an understanding that he'd be signed only if they missed out on DJ and LA made that trade before DJ picked I'd say chances are both still go through.
