I'm not gonna lie, when I heard DeAndre left us to sign with the Mavs, I realized the writing on the wall was written in fresh manure and it spelled "OH ****" in crappy penmanship. Let's face it, the Clippers are not a contender without Jordan. Seeing the giddy ass Warriors win a title and seeing Houston ripping our chest open then crapping in it, with us basically being guaranteed an early playoff exit the following post season made me feel all under the weather and stuff. It didn't feel good, at all. By all intents and purposes, we were made irrelevant. Then more depressing thoughts unravel, like now CP3 and BG are basically just going to play out their contracts and bounce to better situations.

As a Clippers fan, I'm happy DAJ is back with us, and as cringe-worthy it is to admit even with 2 top-ten players on our roster, he has made this team relevant for title contention again. Even with studs like CP3 and BG, Jordan's physical presence in the paint is what made us tough. It made our offense great.

Now, if I were a regular Joe in Dallas, I'd freaking absolutely HATE him for going back on his word, something around 99.998% of Free Agents honor in the offseason. And for that, Mavericks fans, I'm sorry this all happened the way it did. In a perfect universe, Jordan was all yours.

You know, I hope there is a silver lining in all this for the Mavs in the near future, and by extension their fans. I really do, the Mavericks are a great franchise and they didn't deserve this by DeAndre.

Personally, I believe that all you have in this world, at the end, is your word, your commitment...stay strong Mavs! You have an awesome owner who will do whatever it takes to get you back to the mountaintop, and I'll drink to that. Maybe light one up too.

Mavs fans dodged a huge bullet

Unless you wanted a 40% free throw shooter who would be relying on Jeremy Lin to get him baskets LOL

Negotiating with a guy without his agent, and setting the precedent that agreements during the moratorium don't mean anything is bad for the players long term. It can work the other way. What if he had agreed with the Clippers first, then they dropped the offer after everyone else filled their cap?

This makes 0 sense ...lol

So in your mind ...the best thing the players union should be doing is acting on the wishes of the agents league wide as opposed to acting on the wishes of the players......because .......that's what the PLAYERS union is for ........the agents?

Right ....no doubt bro

I think the point is that if players aren't responsible for their oral commitments, neither are the teams. If a team backs out of a promise of a contract, and the player gets stuck, it's going to be hard to file a grievance when the Union President was sitting in another player's home making sure he backed out of his promise.

Quoted for truth...especially after five days. Bush league move and Jordan is a tiny boy to not own this BS. He's a little child, and I can't believe he hid behind his family and didn't talk to Cuban directly before this went down. Men have their word and I guess I'm just getting older when this is pissing me off so much.

I thought the Clippers drama ended when Donald Sterling was booted & Vivian Stiviano lost her courtside seats

Well, why should DJ call Cuban if he used high pressure tactics and turned his own agent against him. I'm sure most people in the league see this for what it really is: Cuban and Fegan doin business as usual and finally karma catching up.

High pressure tactics? What high pressure tactics. DJ had three teams on his list. He narrowed it two. He took his time and arrived at his choice. Good luck with that spin. The fallout from this isn't over. DJ didn't even an agent present when the Clippers negotiated the terms of the contract. There's a question as to whether that contract will even be certified.

Lol, if you don't think Cuban did every flicking thing possible including having his own player (parsons) be his virtual mouthpiece, turning his own agent Fegan against him, then you probably aren't seeing the whole story here. Let the whole thing come to light before you judge,

And just give me a break about the contract and whether that agent signed it. I doubt he will ever be working for DJ again. Agents are scum. Agents that don't even look out for the interest of their own clients are the diseased bacteria that even the scum won't touch.

You know you are crazy, when you are in the .1% of people. You still looking to buy tickets for the Elvis and Tupac tour?? How do you manage to post, during your expedition to try and find big foot?

Deandre Jordan isn't a child... Deandre Jordan was originally offered a bigger contract by LAC... why would an agent turn down more money if they are sleazy, that would be all that they would care about no???

What is confusing about a billionaire friend promising an agent lots of money (maybe untraceable bitcoins for all we know) to get one of his clients to sign with his team?

I agree. But the thing that hurts us the most is now we don't have other options. Hell, if West didn't sign vet with Spurs we could go for him... :noway:

Yeah, I sympathize with Mavs fans, I really do. Our "Emoji-gate" was Elton Brand...or as I like to call him Benedict Brand. It sucks for sure. He should never have put Dallas in this situation and he looks like an ass because of it.

But I've said this many times this past week...yes, I'm glad DJ is back on the Clippers but for every other team, I don't think he's worth the price tag. He would not have been that "franchise player" the Mavs were looking for. He's a role player at best on a title contender. I think you guys will be alright. Yeah, you're likely going to rebuild but you had a great run and a championship to show for it.

If you really think that billionaires like Cuban think they have to play by the same rules as us, then maybe **** it maybe the moon is actually made of cheese.

Would you be totally shocked if Cuban owned say a gentleman's club (ie, brothel) and offered his top players unlimited free use of the amenities to his top players?

We won and played in the WCF.... playing in the WCF is a hell of an accomplishment, especially when most of Realgm/media had the Rockets missing the playoffs or only making it at as the 7th or 8th seed.. Clippers haven't been able to make a WCF with several opportunities with the core they have. The Rockets have only had their core 2 seasons.

Dude they didn't deserve to be in the WCF the Clips would of taken the Warriors to 6 games minimum had they not s*it the bed. They had you guys on the ropes and were mentally weak. They were outplaying you guys and couldn't finish you off. Kudos to you guys for seizing the moment, grabbing momentum & pulling it off, but you guys are not a WCF team yet and it clearly showed once you were there. You severely overachieved. Getting to the WCF is an accomplishment in itself like you said but realistically you guys are a first round/ second round team even with Beverley and Montejunas.

I respect your opinion but we're gonna disagree.

The Rockets were the 2nd seed in the WC even though they were the most injury plagued playoff team last season... Dwight missed like 40 games, Tjones missed like 30 games, Dmo missed the end of the season, Bev missed the end of the season... all types of injuries it was awful... yet still the 2nd seed in the WC.

So a team that finished with the 2nd best record in the WC didn't deserve to be one of the last two teams in the WC playoffs?

they kicked the hell outta the mavs in the 1st round...

had a god awful match up with the Clippers (we've been horrid against this clippers team the past few years) went down 3 - 1 and then won 3 straight games against them.

ITS A 7 game series! you gotta win 4 games! Clips didn't win 4 games. The Rockets won 4 games.. it doesn't matter what order you do it in...

The West is so tough(SAS, Memphis, LAC, GSW,) this Rockets core may not do it again but that doesn't mean they aren't worthy.

I understand your perspective based on their injuries they did well in a tough conference you're right. But playoffs vs reg season are two different animals. I just don't think of the Rockets as a true contenders with Harden and Howard as centerpieces. I also don't think Mchale is that good of a coach although he did improve upon his first year where he hardly ran any offence and never held Harden accountable for his D. That's my opinion though maybe I'll be proved wrong.
