PJ and Marvin for Brandon Jennings works.

I wish there was a way to trade for Lavine (rubio and tyus jones there now)

Bledsoe/Markieff Morris for AL and Marvin +2nd or protected 1st

Darren Collison for Zeller

Some interesting ideas. Not too keen on the Zeller for Collison one, but I like the deal for Brandon Jennings. Don't care much for him as a starter, but he would make a pretty awesome backup. I would trade those spare parts for him in a minute (although we would really need a backup SF... CDR?). Kemba and Jennings - don't they workout together in the offseason or something?

We just need to wait for the Pacers to implode and trade for George Hill. Pacer fans can make excuses about Hibbert poisoning the locker room (sounds familar doesnt it?) all they want, a guy like West doesn't walk away from 10 million dollars if he's in a good situation. Once they find themselves in the bottom 5 of the league mid season they'll start looking to pick up future assets.

How about we target Dieng? They can't move Pek and drafted Towns.

I've been thinking about possible trades now we seem settled in FA, maybe we use the MLE on a rim protector?

In regards to trades, it would seem trade wise we could break down the roster as the following-

LIKELY TO BE TRADED

Brian Roberts
Troy Daniels

POSSIBLY TRADED

Marvin Williams
Spencer Hawes

UNLIKELY BUT POSSIBLY TRADED

P.J Hairston
Cody Zeller

UNLIKELY TO BE TRADED

Kemba Walker
Al Jefferson
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Nicolas Batum
Frank Kaminsky
Jeremy Lamb
Jeremy Lin

What combination of LIKELY and POSSIBLY could land us a rim protector?

Personally I'd like for us to sign Cliff Alexander or Christian Wood.

I believe Wood has a partial guarantee from Houston and if they guarantee him, I'd offer the following trade:

Charlotte trade: Troy Daniels

Houston trade: Christian Wood

Outside of this our best bet would be Javale McGee.

Troy Daniels is dirt cheap and was essentially a throw in for a second round pick we included with Neal, no idea why he would be likely to be traded. His value around the league couldn't be much lower.

No, I answered why we're not going to get anything in return for him. If a player has low value around the league, that's not a point in favor of trading him. He has more value as a backup wing option for us than whatever $1M contract we could get in return for him.

A.)We've just traded for 2 players that play his position, drafted one last offseason and just signed a combo guard.
B.)Daniels was a throw in
C.)He's expiring
D.)He's dirt cheap

Who said anything about getting anything exactly in return for him?

I'd trade him straight up for a player like Wood with a partial guarantee or in a deal with Roberts/Marv/Hairston to match salaries etc.

He is completely expendable but would hold value for a team like Houston or Dallas.

Yeah I think Daniels sticks around. He's a very good bench shooter on a minimum deal, can't ask for much more than that.

I suppose he could be thrown into a deal to make salaries work, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if we tried to trade PJ instead.

P.J is more likely to play backup SF imo.

Not sure I would trust him being ok fighting for minutes, he's too much of a head case.

Id prefer a veteran bench warmer

I'm still a little nervous about our wing rotation. Lamb, PJ, and Daniels are all totally unproven, and all three could flop. I don't necessarily want to bring on another one, and you have to think at least one of them will be able to contribute.

I'm surprised not to see more Al + Roberts / PJ as part of a S&T for Matthews proposals.

Not 100% on this but you cannot sign and trade a player who was not on your team before I think. Portland could sign and trade him somewhere but Dallas cannot.

Think Dallas would have to wait until December to do it or something like that, but yeah you're right DAL wouldn't have the same flexibility.

I mean they can trade him later but a sign and trade is out. I am curious to see if they can work something out with Indy maybe. I have not seen that the Hibbert trade is final yet. Indy could sign some other guys if Dallas sign and trades Ellis there. I would be working hard on that. Then if they want more offense I would move them Al for Hibbert.
