As 6th man, who does Lin sub for from the starting lineup?

Has to be Batum or MKG with Batum sliding to the 3. Highly doubt Walker is the first one subbed

One of them needs to play with the bench anyway to balance out the defense. I suspect it will be MKG more often than not. I actually think Lin, Lamb, and Kaminsky will sub in a lot together with a combination of Kemba, Al, and MKG/Batum subbing out. Hawes will probably play a lot too depending on matchups, foul trouble, and injuries. Marvin will be the tenth man.

Not sure if I over-rate Lin or everybody else under-rates him, but I rate him so much higher than Kemba. I'm not really a Kemba guy, but Lin makes me excited for at least the next couple of years, especially with the potential of MKG improving his shot! So pumped to tear my Portland fan friends apart!

Lin was overrated by people because of the poison pill contract Morey gave him...and he was never given a fair shot in Houston or LA. Now, he's very underrated, and unfortunately is a backup to Kemba who's not as good as Lin imo.

Hey guys, new to the board thought I'd post my response to this signing as a Charlotte fan from the UK since 2010.

2 words- LOVE IT.
Absolutely great signing, he sure has the ability to challenge Kemba for the starting PG role which puts pressure on Kemba to perform his best night in night out. Hopefully we see a great PnR game with Kaminsky. Honestly, I've been a fan of Lin ever since NY, even when he was in bad situations in Houston and LA, I think his ability to ball is crazy and yeah it's true, he needs the ball to really be effective, but why wouldn't you give him the ball? He has great driving potential and can hit down 3s, he is very unselfish and is very open to passing up his own shots to get great looks for others, which is where i think he will thrive with kaminsky on the floor.

Just earlier this week i was reviewing all his old NYK games and ranting to my brother non stop about how much I'd love him in Charlotte, with every player that isn't called Lebron (Not completely true either, he still has some weaknesses, 28% anyone? ;0) he has his weaknesses, but what he can potentially do for Charlotte compared to his downside is definitely worth, and that's without considering how cheap he's come.

methinks maybe I should write a "Jeremy Lin Fans' Guide To Talking **** About Kemba Walker Around Hornets Fans". if you're going to come, you best come correct.

That's cool, Lin will have some versatile guys to work with on the 2nd line, can't wait!

Let's not make this season about Lin vs. Kemba or whoever, the true competition are the other teams, not amongst ourselves. Lin knows his role which is to help out as much as he can while getting to play his game.

The haters are hoping for us to get nasty and stuff, let's prove them wrong!

Quiet a few people on here rating Lin over Walker. I thoroughly look forward to sitting back and watching some nice debates over the next season.

I don't really see a point in this unless it comes to a point in the season where people are debating whether there should be a change for the betterment of the team. As mentioned, Jeremy signed onto this team accepting his role as a backup because he strongly feels that he can contribute in this capacity....Lin fans should not be trying to push a different agenda. I urge the other Lin fans not to anyways.

i won't be pushing lin to start over kemba. i am looking forward to seeing them both on the floor in a turbo small ball lineup when the situation warrants it.

the more interesting development over the season will be who finishes games.

Yup.

Could Lin sign for the biannual exemption yet eventually win over the starting job from Cliff and fan favorite Kemba who is just kicking off his extension? Yes, but that's not going to happen soon so Lin fans just need to let it play out.

I agree, however, you can't deny he has the potential to start over Kemba if he impresses right?

I don't think it's gonna be LP you'll be arguing with on that one. Go back and read the early posts on the Jeremy Lamb thread if you want to know who to ask this question.

As a Lin fan, I want to say that talk about Lin starting over Kemba is highly inappropriate. Kemba is the starter and has earned it with sweat and effort. Lin is new to the team and needs to prove his worth through sustained good play. This being said, the Hornets owe Lin a real shot at demonstrating his value since Lin gave up a lot of money, which at this point means major minutes (i.e., at least 28 minutes a game). Note that Lin got 32 minutes/game as a starter on the playoff Rockets his first year there.
