Not a bad target, at all. I imagine that Memphis would still like an asset for Green, though. Barnes is a pure SF. Wright can play PF/C. But Green still fills a need for them.

He sort of fills a need, but he's swinging from 3-4 right now as a bench guy making over $9mill. They can cover for his loss. I think that the question would be who would they want in exchange. I'm not sure they would want Ian, or Hill... I'm assuming that the lower luxury tax, a large TPE and draft considerations would be more valuable than any of the players that Indy would/could include. They can use the TPE to add another body later that fills a specific need and they can brush right up against the tax line, but stay under it and collect their distro $$.

I'm sorry. I looked at it wrong. Basketball Insiders.com was using last year's tax line on their list. Memphis is actually looking to be around $4m UNDER the tax line.

That's where I saw it too...
Who's over the tzx line then (aside from Brooklyn)?

OKC - Perry Jones?
CHI - Taj Gibson?

Scoot, your homeboy just became unrestricted:

The Nets have withdrawn their more than $4.21MM qualifying offer to Mirza Teletovic, the team announced (hat tip to Tim Bontemps of the New York Post). He’s now an unrestricted free agent...

How about Willie Reed. I've been impressed with his summer league play for the heat. Or is he strictly a centre

He signed with the Nets today, on a mostly guaranteed one year deal.

^ good for Willie Reed. He's played on a few Pacer summer squads and has always played well.

Shame about Mirza, but not sure $5.5m made sense for Indy.

Return to Indiana Pacers
