I dont even care if hes out for the season. Well I care I just wont panic. Big Z had to have the surgery twice and then afterwards he played 5 full seasons without missing more than 3 games including 3 all star selections. As I said before, I just feel bad for JoJo. Think youre frustrated, imagine how he feels. Regardless there is no reason not to be patient. I also hope the Sixers humanize the situation and allow Embiid to take a. the time he needs and b. give him the support he needs and not just toss him.

I have no problem waiting...buti he is out another full year, ten n matter what type of seasons he has afterward, I want a commitment by Embiid and his agent to re-sign here in Philly at a much reduced price...no matter what offers he gets from around the league. I'd say 5 yeas for a total of no more then 40 million sounds about right. Any more then that, then I say " SEE YA " Cause anything more is too huge a risk.

Why would a smile finally coming to his face indicate bad news? He's showing relief, imo. I view it as a promising sign.

or hes saying despite the adversity hes staying positive. I think we're reading too much into this but I am 100% expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

I agree. The (FINALLY) did it for me. I think he's been waiting and waiting for the official news from doctors and the front office and probably just got an indication that he'll be allowed to play soon...FINALLY. That's how I read it at least.

My interpretation is he is going to be out for a little while longer but won't require surgery, will play this year. YMMV.
