This is tough for me. Narrowed down to 3 guys: Curry and Durant who I think are close and Davis who I think there's a good chance surpasses them next year.
Ultimately, I'm going with Durant. I'm not going to discredit him for this injury riddled season and instead judge him on his last fully healthy season - 2013-14. I think his MVP season was a bit better than Curry's and saw some good arguments on the PC board.
Durant in 2013-14: 32 ppg, on 63.5 TS%, 7.4 rpg, 5.5 apg, 29.8 PER, 19.2 WS, 8.5 VORP. Led the league in points, win shares, PER, VORP
Curry this year: 23.8 ppg on 63.8 TS%, 7.7 apg, 4.3 rig, 28 PER, 15.7 WS, 7.9 VORP. Led the league in VORP.
Curry obviously had better team success, but I think that's a product of better teammates and greater health - Westbrook missed 36 games. I also don't think Curry could maintain that level of efficiency while carrying a large scoring load like Durant did.
Spark Notes:
Vote: Durant
Nominate: The man who won twitter yesterday - Blake Griffin
