Ok now I'm happy with this signing. I love the high release on his shots and the quickness to the release.

Blake Griffin, Thabeet, Harden, Evans, Rubio, Flynn, Curry were all drafted as lottery picks expected to be all star players or at the very least cornerstones of a franchise.

Blake Griffin has met expectations, Harden and Curry have exceeded theirs, Evans and Rubio have been somewhat disappointing but still solid players. Thabeet and Flynn are not in the league. Point being projected talent is never a surefire thing. More importantly, just having a great player or even have an amalagation of great players doesn't entail a great, or having a great team. Case in point being the Atlanta Hawks don't and never really had any superstars unless you count Joe Johnson as a superstar and were "treadmilling" for 7 years before last season.

Btw, don't know why All-Star selection is being used as a gauge for worth. Gimpy Kobe still gets selected every year, as did Tmac in his twilight years, it's a popularity contest decided largely by casual fans. Besides, even if there were 40 Lebron James calibre players disseminated across all 5 positions per conference, there is still only 2-3 spots per position, so players that are truly deserving of a spot will sometimes not get picked.

Sorry Mooch ... here is the rehash in nut shell

Bigfoot: In presser Tyson Chandler said making the playoffs is the first goal. I add that GSW didn't win a championship until two years after they made the playoffs. Gotta make the playoffs first.

SF88: Replies ... where's our Curry/Superstar?

Bigfoot: Curry wasn't considered a superstar until just recently

yeah he certainly is saying all the right things. I scoff a bit at bringing players in as "leaders" because isn't that what coaches are for but maybe I need to change my thinking on that.

Yes and no. Coaches can only do so much during practice and on the bench. Sometimes you need a locker room and on-court general. It's like when you were in school. The teachers and pricipal were authority figures, they told you what to do, but you didn't necessarily always listen. If a respected classmate or friend told you the same thing, you'd be more likely to listen. In a basketball environment, if a guy can go out and back up what they preach it means more than a coach that's been away from the game for a while and younger guys might think they're "out of touch". It's different with other coaches, obviously. Every player, young or old, would respect what Phil Jackson, Greg Popovich or Pat Riley told them. On the other hand, a younger coach with less success (i.e. Hornacek), not so much. I think Tyson is a great bridge between the coaching staff and the young team.

This offseason would of been good if it wasn't for the chandler signing. Wasted cap

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Yes, I can't believe people are saying he is going to pout all season. I mean if you are a twin and have lived you whole life minus a couple years with him you are close, and we all know they are, so when they get separated, got back together, and then it happens a second time, it's gotta be disappointing, especially since the first time was kind of not something that they could control due to the draft. Then they get back together and all is good again (this was just a bad and stupid decision thinking about it now...because twins need to learn to be on their own....if they are finally carving a path, don't put them right back together....the more I think about this, the stupider it becomes...what an awful strategy).

He isn't happy. Why would he be? But he's going to get past it. He already seemed much more grown up than Marcus, and with Tyson around, it will help more. Tyson will tell him "hey, don't argue with refs because it doesn't matter...once they call something that is it...it doesn't matter what happened that others didn't see...that's because you are not a savvy fouler".
