This is going to be a VERY interesting Suns season I feel.

If Teletovic and Weems end up being the players we want them to be, we could be a very good team.

If they end up being scrubs, we could be a very bad team.

What a f**king good off season. Well done McD.

"and does this mean we are trading xyz?": No, we are done. Bring on the season.

Wait. I've listened to Gambo for years. I could have sworn he was married. Did he get divorced?

That would be an interesting poll. I would vote signing Chandler as number one, although trading Marcus would be a close second.

wish it was a two year deal with Mirza

on a one year deal you can't really be a trade asset and you could just as easily be gone the next summer.

chances are he flourishes here and gets due for a lot more money, two year deal would have been much better

We addressed some of our most pressing issues during this off season:

1. Interior defense (one of the worst in the league last season): Tyson Chandler
2. Rebounding (25th in rebounding differential): Tyson Chandler
3. Three point shooting (20th in the league last season): Knight, Booker, Teletubby

For the first time in modern Suns history we have a legitimate Center rotation. Weems is a solid, low risk backup.

Rotation next year (assuming no more trades):

Bledsoe 35 min / Goodwin (18 min) / Price (13th man)
Knight 35 min / Weems (8 min) / Booker (12th man)
PJ (26 min) / TJ (22min)
Kieff (32 min) / Teletubby (16 min) /Leuer (11th man)
Chandler (26 min) / Len (22 min)

We're not going all in on any of our FA signings because we know they aren't the guys who will get us over the top. We want to maintain flexibility to get a star FA next year, think if we turned that cap space into DeMar DeRozan? who likely ends up being the cream of the FA crop (outside of Durant).

Also, think about it like this, you make the playoffs this year, go hard after a top tier FA next offseason, and all of a sudden you look like a top-4 or 5 team in the conference (in other words, in the conversation for a title), meaning those role players will be more likely to return to the team to continue the winning project.

I also don't think that Teletovic is going to perform SO well that we'll feel like we HAVE to sign him at all costs.

like these past few signings, low risk with some good upside but won't lock down cap space long term

While i understand your reasoning I don't like not having one front court player who can get points posting up. All those front court players you have there are hustle guys (except teletovic) not offensive guys.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

The target is to become a slashing/3pt team with a defensive Center... similar to the Warriors.

Stretching out the defense towards the 3pt line opens up lanes... then Suns 2 main scorers will have the paint to attack... the defense basically picks their poison... similar to the Warriors... they burn you from 3pt or via layups with Barnes, Curry, Iggy, Klay who can drive and score.

1Upz, I dig this trade. It would make sense for the Thunder if they are hard pressed on being in the luxury tax. I mean, that's the reason they traded James Harden right?
Sunsdeuce, I get your point. However, Ibaka has stretched his offense, he can now shoot threes (probably better than Kieff actually. He's a good pick n pop player too. Most of his buckets are heavily relied upon on others creating though or his put backs.
Still, this would be great. It might take the Heat's 2017 pick too though.

I don't think we can get Ibaka but that is definitely the sort of deal I will be pursuing in NBA 2K so thank you for the inspiration

I love teletovics nickname #kingslayer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2bhRrOAI-0

If its not, it should be.
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."
