Shouldn't you be happy that the Mavs dodged a bullet? He showed how fragile his mental game is and the Mavs shelling out $ to be their 'franchise player' would have just been a waste.

Why is this still going? 118 pages because of DJ.

I hope Dirk goes full Adolf Hitler on him their first meeting next season.

Godwin's Law (or Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1"[2][3]— that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism. Despite being described as universal, regardless of the subject of the discussion, Godwin's law is more likely to be applicable to social topics (including politics, law, religion, etc.).

Sorry, I assumed everyone knew it since it has been around in internet discussions since the 90's. It was a meme before the term "meme" was popularized.
You run across the terms "Godwin's Law" and "Rule 34" if you spend any time in internet discussions.

or at least give me a reason for a moratorium, that would otherwise be unnecessary if deals were done on the spot, and there are plenty of those. if there were two or three dj incidents every year, then teams would take steps to get the deal signed and sealed - no big deal. you're making it seem like stuff like this can't be avoided.
I honestly have no idea what you are saying here. The first part seems bizarre (moratoriums are for last minute changes?) and the last part just doesn't make sense (teams would make sure a deal is signed and sealed during a moratorium?).
you still haven't answered me about teams merely taking precautions in the future. aldridge signed, duncan signed, west signed. that's all it takes, man. no fuss no muss. there could be 5 dj incidents every year,,,so what. it's always been player VERSUS management. it'll never be the end of trust as we know it.

I didn't answer because I don't know what you are asking. Taking precautions sounds like you are promoting condom use, I don't understand the context here.

Oh I agree that he actually saved the Mavs from making a huge mistake. He completely showed his ass in this situation. He's definitely not a lead dog. With Dirk reaching reaching the end of his career the Mavs need an Alpha and DJ is the exact opposite of an Alpha. He's still a piece of **** though.

What's weird is now he's going back to the team he didn't want to play for earlier and didn't want to play with Blake and cp3. Must be really awkward in the locker room lol.
Clips shud just trade his a*s now lol

Well lets examine this scientifically.
1. DeAndre's last name is Jordan.
2. Jordan is the name of a river running through Israel, a Jewish country.
3. Dirk Nowitzki is German.
4. Germany was responsible for killing millions of Jewish people last century.
I think what oldschoOled was saying is that in their next game, hearing DeAndre Jordan's last name might trigger Dirk's repressed genocidal instincts, and that Dirk - associating DeAndre with the Jewish faith - might spontaneously attack him with lethal force.
I mean. I'm almost 100% sure that's what he meant.

People said that it was unethical and disgraceful.
There have been some scattered comments suggesting the Mavs could sue the Clippers.
Oh God yes, make it so. I need more comedy.
I hate the clips as much as the next guy, but on what grounds can the Mavs sue?

This would be amazing. I wonder if Cuban would be willing to pay the fine if the Mavs just continued to foul DJ or whoever the worst foul shooter on the floor is for an entire game in LA.

Jordan's decision does not show a lack of integrity. It doesn't matter what people believe he "should or should not have done". All of that stuff is irrelevant. They had a verbal agreement, which Jordan rescinded... THAT'S IT.
The decision was his to make and he chose to stay with the Clippers. Simple as that. He was under no obligation to inform Dallas. He was under no obligation to ultimately sign with Dallas. He was within his rights and it doesn't matter how some people think he should have handled it.
I think he handled it fine. I think he made the smart decision. To me, all that matters is he made the decision within the rules set out by the NBA/CBA.
Truth is, your cousin should be thankful he didn't marry that woman.
Are you on drugs? Go look up what integrity means, and then come back and say that Jordan didn't show a lack of integrity. Lol. Some of the people sticking up for DJ are ridiculous.
Some people on here seem to be so liberal and so over-the-top "pro-labor" that they'll make any excuse for players' actions at the expense of the teams. Even Larry Sanders had all sorts of excuses made for him when he tried to blatantly steal money from the Bucks.
Royce White as well. I won't assume either were intentionally stealing money but both accepted ridiculous money for services they couldn't or were not inclined to provide, and at least in Sander's case (if not also in White's), also vied to keep the money after services were withheld. The funny thing about such "pro-labor" supporters is that they're supporting guys that aren't actually providing any.
We are agreeing. This is weird.

The best part of all this is how Jordan is going to put up monster games against the Mavs this season.

Come on, even in today’s society where every news has a shelf life of 15 minutes, this one at least deserves a couple of days, especially with all the connecting news like Dallas upping Mathews offer and Cuban v. Sauces. Wait one week and all this faux outrage will be gone and people will just move on to the next shiny toy. Kevin Durant Sweepstakes 2016 anyone?
