Bass is a pro. Gives maximum effort, can hit his free throws, solid scorer, solid rebounder, can play defense against 3's or 4's and most importantly is a great lockerroom guy who keeps his mouth shut. Sad to see him go. Laker fans will like Bass. Good Luck!

Brandon Bass signed a $6.135 mil, two year deal with the Lakers, player option on 2nd season
Very good deal ... slightly above the room exemption with the new cap figure

^I was going through my IG earlier today and saw that picture and my first thought was 'WE GOT DRAY GREEN??' and then I saw the description. Dudes look the same.
"All these guys who run these organizations who talk about analytics, they have one thing in common: They're a bunch of guys who ain't never played the game, they never got the girls in high school, and they just want to get in the game."

I'd start Bass over Randle, and Lou Williams over Clarkson. I don't see why players can't be developed from the bench. I don't want the Lakers to be the timberwolves, and throw the young guys out there just to lose games. Russel is the high IQ rookie that can start right away because he's more of a facilitator that shows he can play within a role. Clarkson and Randle to me, are a bit out of control and still have to earn that starting spot. No shame in coming off the bench as rookies, Kobe did it, and he turned out just fine.

Id consider Bass over Randle since Randle does lack NBA experience but Clarkson has definitely earned that starting spot from his play last year.
I also wouldnt say that they are out of control just based on summer league play. Come on, its summer league. Obviously they won't have that much freedom with Kobe on the floor or even just with Byron on the bench. He'd yank their ass to the bench if they did anything stupid. Williams is fine off the bench and seems to thrive on that 6th man role.

Re: Lakers sign Brandon Bass
I've brought up in the Hibbert thread that his pairing with Bass is more intriguing than with Randle.
There's really just a small difference between Clarkson and Williams where Williams is just the slightly better player. Both have similar styles. I don't care who starts between the 2 or who gets more minutes as long as it's deserved, but I definitely don't want to see both ont he floor together.

Bass is a solid player and durable. Has played 80+ games over the past three-seasons, shoots 50% and just plain hustles. A veteran that should benefit Randle in his development. I like the idea of having him start and bringing Randle off the bench at the beginning of the season, and watching how things progress. Less pressure for Randle to have to deal with as this will really be his first year.
