Hey guys, new to this website but have always read threads to gain more information
Wondering what you guys think of trading Crawford for the following wing targets and if the deals are enough and if you think the other team would go for it:
Wilson Chandler
to Denver: Crawford, future 2nd
to Clippers: Wilson Chandler
Reasoning: Chandler can start and does it all. Denver gets future pick and can flip Crawford at deadline or keep him temporarily if they trade Lawson.
Terrence Ross
to Toronto: Crawford,
to Clippers: Terrence Ross, Lucas Nogueira, future 2nd
Reasoning: Ross is a young dude with 3&D potential, needs change of scenery. Nogeuira in for salary purposes but a former 1st rounder and potential backup C. Raps just lost Lou Will so Crawford is attractive as their new 6th man.
Gordon Hayward
This one's a stretch but i would love it:
to Utah: Crawford, Redick, Hudson, Hamilton, Future 1st
to Clippers: Gordon Hayward
Reasoning: CP3 - Stephenson - Hayward - Griffin - DJ. I've always loved Hayward and it would be nice to somehow pry him out of Utah. I love Redick but we would have to give him up to get him. But that starting lineup looks awesome and has a lot of 2 way potential. The weak link on defense would be Griffin but everyone else is a great two-way player. Defense wins championships.
Thanks for the input guys

with Pierce and Johnson on board, small forward may not be the biggest priority. Even with DJ signed, the Clippers need to round out the bench in terms of power forward and center.

Re: Crawford for a SF
i wouldn't hate chandler if we had plans to do small ball lineups throughout the season but the reality is having both pierce and wes johnson is enough. getting another SF is overkill when we should really be trading for a big.
anyway, first two deals are pretty lopsided in our favor, with second one being very lopsided, imo.
also jj goes nowhere if it's a SG for a SF exchange, because again, we already have enough SF's.

I guess i'm just not a fan of Wesley Johnson
so an upgrade would be nice
I do agree that we still have other needs. Thanks for the input all

Re: Crawford for a SF
If we could add someone of Hayward's caliber we do it even if it means letting go of JJ, and we definitely don't stop doing it because we have Johnson or 40 y/o Pierce. But with any of those 3 trades I'm afraid we'd have to add quite a bit more value. None of the Raptors or Nuggets are gonna give us useful players like Chandler and Ross for Crawford and a 2nd. And Utah is not giving us their franchise player for a pu pu platter of mediocrity + JJ.
I like the way you think, but realistically, you're overvaluing our assets

If that Chandler deal is still on the table we should strongly consider it just in case Pierce goes down for a short period of time during the season. Can't trust Wes J at that position.

I agree with both of you. The team is finally taking shape so we can't afford to pass on a Wilson Chandler trade just because we have a couple of wings on the team now. Paul Pierce will need his minutes restricted as he's approaching 40; we can't rely is a vet min guy like Wes Johnson; Dawson is a rookie; and Lance is a gamble. Chandler can be used as a stretch 4 and will be more talented than any backup PF we can get in return for Jamal anyway. The downside is it'll probably cost a 1st round pick and the 2016 Nets 2nd.

I think if the chandler deal ever was on the table, we would have taken it.
