Fo-Real wrote:What I found interesting was at the end of the interview, where he was answering the questions about being seperated from Kief. He said something along the lines of "I wish him luck.... where ever it is..... wether its Phx, or where ever". Shows there have atleast been some talks, either between the twins of maybe asking for a trade or they have been informed of possible trade to come of Kief. If he had simply said, "I wish Kief luck in Phx", there would be no question that Kief planned to work it out here and shut up and play. His comment leaves the window cracked that there is possibly something out there going on, like I said wether its from the twins side and Kief is gonna pout and ask out or from the Suns side.

I don't think they asked for a trade and there is zero chance Kieff was told he might be traded. You just don't do that. It is just their speculation.

I love me some Horford. Always wanted him in a Suns jersey since he came out of Florida

Could you imagine him at the 4 next to Chandler or Len? He has even started to develop 3 pt range.

KeifMo needs a good PR person to step in and counsel him. Probably good he isn't saying anything. Too bad his clone is. Its hard to imagine this turning out well. And it has the possibility of getting fugly. Sometimes people just can't change.

Im sure there's a deal out there for him if he pushes for one. Thats my bet. He doesn't seem like the type to put it behind him and have fun at the greatest job ever. I see him as a sour puss in the making.

Not too many other teams need a PF, Maybe Wash or Indy ?

That guy is lucky he's a twin and Kieff gave him more than he's worth.

In saying that, he had skills as a pure 3/small 4 so he'll probably be fine in Detroit.

He didn't get a chance??? Pfft...Don't let the door hit you...

I just watched it and I felt a little bad for him, though I do think he has a serious attitude problem. He was pissed..after one question the way he was like licking the inside of his mouth...front of his teeth...that means someone is PISSED.

HE will never like Markieff playing for Phx..so I don't know how Markieff will handle that, even if Markieff wants to play for Phx. Family is always important. I don't know how long it will take Marcus to get over it.

Oh yeah, and the mentor part...someone mentioned that on the Pistons forum the day of the trade and I said no, you don't want Marcus mentoring Stanley.

Though I guess Stanley can learn some things and Stanley seems like a man of character, so I don't think Marcus would influence him much on bad character issues.

Flying Colors wrote:Look guys, i kinda get it. Or rather i get one real perspective. That both brothers took potentially less money to stay together. Whether you feel they would or wouldn't, they probably could have gotten more money on the open market. If Suns sign them like this with the assurance that they stay together, then yes this could be seen as a huge slight. Players talk to each other. As far as we know, they understand the Morris brothers perspective, coupled with Dragic's comments, maybe they FO IS beginning to seem untrust worthy. Hard to say really, we have to wait and see on that one.

Still Marcus kinda did this to himself, The things he did kinda began to stack, and at a certain point somethings got to give. Kieff will get over it, and if he doesn't then fine, we will trade him, but chances are he won't get to play his brother again for a while anyways. So he is better off making the best of the situation . Maybe if he does begin to play much better, he can see how this is a good move

Excellent post. We don't know what McD told them, and I hadn't thought about it, but they probably sold them on being together. That makes their reactions MUCH more understandable. I think if you are right on this, it might be tough to keep Markieff, and he has to be REAL pissed he took so much less money than lesser players making more and now his brother is gone. If we can keep him and he just wants to get better, the chip on his shoulder could prove valuable though.

plonden wrote:With the Nets buy out of Deron Williams, Brooklyn is lacking a starting-caliber point guard. What about trading Brandon Knight to the Nets for Thaddeus Young and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson?

Why the Nets do it: Jarrett Jack is a great backup point guard, and a below average starting point guard. Knight is young and on a good contract and an average or above-average starting point guard.

Why the Suns do it: Bledsoe becomes the unquestioned starting point guard. Young can play both forward positions and is signed to a decent deal. Young is also in his prime right now (27 years old). The Suns also get a raw prospect on a rookie deal who has a chance to develop into a very special defender. Plus, Hollis-Jefferson has Arizona ties.

Bledsoe / Price / McNeal
Weems / Booker / Goodwin
Young / Tucker / Warren / Hollis-Jefferson
Morris / Teletovic / Luer
Chandler / Len

This would make both Morris and Tucker expendable in the right deal.

Well thanks for a realistic trade offer. Those are pretty rare. Well, I don't think this trade could happen until December or January due to time restrictions on new additions. I think it won't happen because McD gave up quite a bit to get Knight so he obviously likes him. That would be a pretty good trade for both teams except that the Suns most glaring need right now is shooting, and if we lost Knight, our PG rotation would be extremely thin, and Bledsoe could be injury prone.

Him and Dragic had great chemistry together, I think if they can get that back then Miami will be dangerous in the East.

That's right. Gerald Green will put Miami over the top

Wow they got Amare too! :nonono:

From max contract to $1.5M/year. Miami trying to emulate that Phoenix team that won the championship....oh wait

I know some people get overly bitter regarding ex players, but I will be pulling for the Heat in the east, which seems weird. Actually the Pistons too because of Stanley Johnson...probably two of my most hated teams....I will watch the Magic as well for the Cats and Hezonja.

"No"

1. Because you cannot trade Knight so soon after signing a contract.
2. Because trading a FA so soon after signing a contract would send a bad message to all future free agents to stay away from the Suns.
3. Because we really believe in Knight, in fact, gave up the Laker pick for him. It would be silly to trade him for two mediocre players.
4. Because there is no reason to believe Sonny Weems is NBA starter caliber.
5. Because there is no reason to believe that Thaddeus Young is a true NBA starting caliber player. Yes.
6. Because the team is clearly worse after the trade than before it.
7. Because it pushes TJ Warren back further in the rotation.
8. Because we need another decent pg and we do not without Knight.
9. Because it remains to be seen whether Hollis-Jefferson has an NBA future at all.
10. Because Knight and Bledsoe have hardly played together.
11. Because it would make the Suns front office look like incompetent Schizos that cannot make up their minds on which way they really want to go.

I could probably list more reasons why this is a horrible idea.

I agree with all of those points, but I do think it is one of the more equal value trades an opposing fan has made, so maybe you disagree with that.

The Morris brothers are as close as brothers can be and I guarantee you Markieff is very angry they traded his brother. And like I said earlier today, McDonough said himself he has not even spoken to Markieff since his brother was traded. In addition, there was not one word from Chandler or anyone else that Chandler can mentor Markieff. They all mentioned Len improving with Chandler being in Phoenix and also how much he should be able to help Bledsoe and Knight on the pick and roll. This all adds up to Markieff being traded. With how much drama Markieff could cause the organization, there is seriously no reason for Markieff to stay on the Suns regardless of their power forward depth or anything else. He needs to get traded.

Seriously, shut the **** up. They're not the same person.

Honestly the only benefit to Kieff being traded is that I don't have to hear letsgosuns talk about it anymore

Although as always, **** Mook, hope he goes to prison and ends up playing in europe

I understand why Mook is upset about being traded. Sucks finding out you have to leave your brother/best friend specifically after the two of you took the package discount.

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut

If any one of us yelled at our boss and ASSAULTED A DUDE, we'd be freaking FIRED. Like, IMMEDIATELY. So how can this guy be mad at the Suns? He still gets paid 5 million bucks and he gets MORE minutes in the process.

Ugh.

If Mitch McGary is headed out of OKC for some reason to clear room for Kanter

The Suns should try and pick him up, great rebounder and competitor

can play some PF off the bench

I wish I could +1 this 100 times.

The Morris twins are like spoiled little children who expect everything to always go exactly the way they want it no matter what. Marcus legitimately feels like he got cheated because of the contract he signed. Well, maybe when the Suns signed him to a 4 year contract they were expecting him to not get charged with a **** felony (and tell police that NOTHING happened lmao) and not cuss out the head coach on TV literally just because he got upset with him.

Marcus has a cancerously awful attitude and sense of self entitlement. I hope he **** up again in Detroit and gets forced out of the league. Maybe that will teach him the life lesson he needs, but he is such a self entitled piece of **** that that probably won't happen.

rsavaj wrote:According to Coro, Weems is likely to be the first guard off the bench, so looks like we're looking at this rotation right now:

Bledsoe/Price/McNeal
Knight/Weems/Goodwin
Tucker/Warren
Morris/Teletovic/Leuer
Chandler/Len

I'm assuming Booker is gonna be inactive/in the D-League for most of the year. Goodwin and Weems will probably split equal minutes at the backup 2 spot, and I think they'll both get more minutes than Price.

The thing I'm most excited about is Warren. Let's see what he can do with big minutes.

Was hoping Archie would gets first crack at 3rd guard, I guess it'll come out during camp.

I like how our bench mob is essentially our developed youth, led by either Bled or Knight. With their young legs, we can bring them in and run, run, run.

Price, Leuer and maybe a cheap vet wing (Granger would have worked) will make up spots 11, 12 & 13 and (hopefully) play sparingly. McNeal will probably get traded or cut now we have Price on board; his non-guarantee could have been cheap insurance in case of Knight bolting.

I concur that Booker and probably Alec Brown will be our D-League delegates this season as roster spots 14 & 15.

As far as the Rotation and minutes go, injuries notwithstanding I would play it out like this - note these are averages based on 48 minutes with no one missing any games. As injuries, suspensions and blowout wins/ losses occur, the bench guys will play more and their averages will increase from this baseline:

1/12:00 Bledsoe, Knight, Tucker, Teletovic, Chandler
1/06:00 Bledsoe, Knight, Warren, Teletovic, Len
1/04:00 Knight, Goodwin, Warren, Morris, Len

2/12:00 Price, Goodwin, Warren, Morris, Len
2/10:00 Bledsoe, Weems, Warren, Teletovic, Morris (4 mins of small ball)
2/06:00 Bledsoe, Knight, Tucker, Teletovic, Chandler

(Repeat for 3rd & 4th Quarters)

Bledsoe (36), Goodwin (12), Price (4)
Knight (36), Weems (8), Booker (DL)
Tucker (24), Warren (24)
Teletovic (36), Morris (20), Leuer (DNP)
Chandler (24), Len (16), Brown (DL)

Holy crap. That would be FANTASTIC. Let's get rid of Keef for a guy that actually has the balls to go grab a rebound every now and then.

Make it a 3 team deal. Give up Keef to a team that will pick in the 20-30 range and have them send their pick to OKC. Then we can send a top 13 (we must keep getting the 13th pick) protected pick to OKC for McGary.

Thoughts?
