$2.8M Room Exception

Post#1 » by tlifeset » Fri Jul 10, 2015 7:55 pm

Looks like we're going to have 1 roster spot remaining... it could potentially go to a player on our Summer League roster however I think Mitch will use it as an opportunity to grab another veteran presence to help our young core.

I could see an Elton Brand, Chuck Hayes, Shawn Marion or Jason Richardson type. Someone who's been successful in the league at one point.

Who do you guys want?

Veteran true pg is the biggest need IMO.

Another veteran center would be nice, but team needs to get rid of Kelly and Sacre before going with another big

Dorell Wright with the room and Ridnour with a vet minimum would be ideal

Small Forward, not sure who that would be, but an actual S.F would be good

Mitch needs to pull some strings and get KJ McDaniels. This is one of the few teams where he can get ample pt to show his true potential.

People you can't make an offer for a rfa with the room exception. No Cole, McDaniels, Clathes

We need to get rid of Sacre and Kelly. I would happily do it and advocate then giving Buckys a deal and Andre Miller a deal. A age old head vet like Dre makes so much sense for this team

I doubt LA adds anyone else unless they trade one or all of Sacre, Kelly, Young.
They've basically got 15 guys at this point,
7 littles and 8 bigs.

Chuck Hayes - ferocious defender, great mentor and still has gas in the tank

The matrix has officially retired, btw

Don't we still have the option to wipe a contract form the books, forget the term. Don't think Lakers used it and it is available the length of the current CBA. Wipe one of Kelly/Sacre if we can't make a trade for a 2nd rounder, waive the other/buyout.

Use the room to offer KJ a deal.

We must find a trade for Kelly and Sacre, possibly Young to open up some space. I don't see any spot on this roster for Nick Young. Absolutely none. Would also open up around 8M in cap space if we were to unload those three.

Used it on Artest.

This team needs a back up point guard. SF is a hole, but at these there are bodies for that position who can fill it. There's no one who can run the point behind Russell other than Kobe and Clarkson, and I don't trust the latter 2 whether by injuries or experience.

Jameer Nelson

Veteran PG with experience, can hit the 3, plays with effort and doesn't have to dominate the ball to be effective.

Could be our Shaun Livingston, savvy and seasoned backup.

Exactly. Kobe at 3 is almost a certainty by now. No point in getting a vet SF unless there is still a guy that is relatively young. A vet would just take time away from developing our young guys

The vet pg is important. Id be ok with giving Clarkson time there but we need a 3rd pg who can mentor Russell or even back him up if we find Clarkson at sg full time.

I don't think norris cole is that guy.

Jemeer, andre or luke for me.

Would have liked Steve Blake again. Maybe swing a trade to the Nets for him.
