Bud could play stretch 4. Hes a 3 that can play 4 now. Damo cannot. He's a 3 that plays like a 2.

Hill-Stuckey
Ellis-Miles
Hill-Budinger
George-Mahinmi
Hill-Allen
plus the rookies.
Mahinmi is a 5 and Allen is a 4 that can play 5 in a pinch. But yeah. That rotation isn't far off.
Though, it looks like Myles Turner is going to play his way into the rotation at the 5. Could mean we look at trading Mahinmi for something of a long term fit or value mid season.

Budginger allows Pacers to play small and fast even when Paul isn't in the game. I see the depth chart at the 4 now being George, Budinger, Allen. These moves could be making Mahan the odd man out.

This is a dice roll but one that I like. As well as Damo played for the last 20 games of last season, Budinger played even better.

If he's physically sound its one more multiple skill athlete. I like it. The upside he offers over Rudez is well worth the shot in my mind.

Re: Woj: Pacers acquire Chase Budinger
I think Budinger will play the 2 and 3. We now have some guys to play 4, and prior to this acquisition, we are lacking a wing who can play the 2 and 3 like CJ Miles.
I am not sure what to feel about this, but if Budinger is healthy, he can be better than Damo. Plus, if he can run and jump like he used to, he would be an instant fit.

Bud is finally healthy, he played well the last couple months of the season, moving like he did a couple years ago. He played the 3, and a bit of the 4 when we were down to 8 healthy guys. If he stays healthy he'll be useful, at least more useful than the guy you sent us

The guy we sent you is a keeper, too. He's a lights out 3 pt shooter. One you can put in for 2 minutes or so and grab a solid shot or two from. He just doesn't do much (read: anything) else.
