You think he can be that kind of scorer? I think he has to add some shake to his game and add a jumper before I could see him as a 20 ppg guy.

Yea in his prime if everything works out should be a solid 18-20ppg guy. I think getting a jumper is one of the hardest things to develop though unlike most scouts. You either got the stroke or you dont.

I dont see him as a great defender though.

he has great lateral quickness and at nike camp he guarded James Harden and Anthony Davis well.

I dont see the Tmac comp for Josh Jackson at all. As far as Simmons goes, based off of highlights on youtube he looks like a less athletic Blake Griffin.

What in the blue hell? Cause he's light skinned and dunks? Beyond that, how is he anything like Blake?

Is that what you see? light skin and dunks?

I see them both being the same height, wing span is practically identical, standing reach only two inches different, they compare pretty closely when looking at measurable's. They both are athletic undersized 4's who excel in the open court, can handle the ball, very good passers for their position, very questionable shooting strokes at the same stage and both have a face up game.

I can see a bit of Blake in Ben. They have similar skill sets although I think Ben is a better passer while Blake has the better overall vertical athleticism. Ben is also a pretty good athlete though. Great laterally and while his length (WS & SR) is a bit less than what you'd hope for, he has great anticipation and timing for steals and blocks.

Ben also seems to be way more comfortable handling the ball than Blake does, I don't really see Blake's game in Ben's game.

I dont think Harden and Davis would be exactly giving it their all during a nike camp. Its crazy to think that a rookie would do well defensively, rarely happens. Now your saying he guarded two nba superstars well before a year of college ball. It will be years before he becomes a solid defender.

That depends. If said younger player happened to be showing them up a bit, they might feel inclined to teach him a lesson

I agree, his defense along with his jumper are his two biggest weaknesses. He averaged 1.5 blocks per game which seems really low for a 6-10 guy against high school talent..I think it's due to his ordinary Wingspan..

anybody comparing simmons and blake is drunk. blake is a generational athlete, I can assure you simmons wont be doing the same things blake was in d1. simmons is not the high flyer , he is more physical versatile wing type, a prospect we've been seeing a lot of lately. blake in grassroots was a bully down low, simmons has been catered to be a wing by his camp.

Is Simmons a SF or PF in the NBA?

Will he likely play SF or PF at LSU? (I know he's a hybrid, but he will have to be listed at onr of the positions!).

I've watched a decent bit of Ben Simmons' footage but am still unsure tbh.

more than likely a 3 and in all honesty with how the league is shaping it really won't matter as long as you find somewhere to put him on the floor.

The guy he most reminds me of is Lamar Odom - 6'10 lefty with point forward abilities and a good but not great jump-shot. Similar athletic level as well I would say (though if anything Ben is the better athlete).

I see him very much as a PF in the league... he'll probably need a few years to refine his skill-set - I think his half-court offense is raw and overall game can do with some polish/development, but he has great physical attributes and feel for the game (like his mate Dante Exum). He'll be great in this league.

I think we may be looking at the new type of ideal NBA PF here - his skill-set is similar to that of Trey Lyles. Mobile bigs that can shoot and create - basically 'small ball' without the limitations of an undersized lineup, and more dimensional than your typical 'stretch 4'. Our own Bulls have one in Mirotic.

It's definitely important that he develops his jumper.

He might play C like Jabari did at Duke. They have Cs but they're all scrubs so I think they'll run 3 guards a SF and Ben.

All I know is he'll look very good in 76ers red white and blue.

?
Staukas?
?
Noel/Simmons/Saric
Okafor/Embiid

really? If I were philly and landed the #1 pick I'd try to get a future 1st or solid prospect to trade down to 3 or 4 and grab jaylen brown or brandon ingram, true natural threes that would be better fits with the current core. Of course all of that could very well change in the next 11 months lol.

How likely do people think it is simmons goes #1? Watching some of Skal Labissiere's highlights he's an extremely intriguing player. Wouldn't be shocked if he wound up 1, then again it is still very far away.

Hmmm, the 6' 10" 240lb ambidextrous point forward with the 'Lebron game' or the next skilled big for no1 , still a long way to go before the GM's have to decide that pick but I believe they currently have the Aussie in front of the Haitian at this point, with another 'foreigner' (Canadian) at 3. Obviously not a good class for the Americans.

It's still very early, but at this point Simmons looks like he'll play SF.
