The level of disrespect from the GB is amazing
I think we made pretty good progress this season.
Getting rid of garbage and infusing some athleticism and youth.
We were on a tear with Thad on our team, and who did we really lose? Teletovic was out for 2nd half of the season. D-Won't was playing like absolute trash pretty much the entire season.
I wouldn't be surprised if we make the playoffs easily this year with Lopez/Thad/Johnson.

It's a good thing basketball is played on a court and not on paper. Not bothered at all by those fools. King has shown what he's capable of when he doesn't have ownership's gun to his head. Love the moves made so far.

Re: The level of disrespect from the GB is amazing
The GB are always filled with biased big market inferiority complex morons.
- Robinson is a much better rebounder than Plumlee and the best rebounder we've had since Evans. So, we addressed a need.
- Ellington is not as good of a defender but he is a better shooter than AA. He fills a need.
-RHJ is a terrific defender already. He's also a good rebounder. He fills a huge need.
- Bojan should be much better as well.
Hopefully with good health, we should be a 37-40 team knocking on the door of the 7th/8th seed. Everyone called Plumlee a scrub during his USA selection but now trading a 'talented big man with high upside' for a 1st round pick is dumb.
They want to see us fail as a franchise. Anything that makes sense will be belittled. It's been that way for awhile.

Re: The level of disrespect from the GB is amazing
Who really cares? The GB really is a place where most people pump up their team while disparaging others. There are nuggets of good info on there, but you'll have to sift through some trash to get to them. The PC board is probably the best "general" board- where I see number, statistics, strong arguments backing positions and not just clear bias.
I don''t think we're a playoff team though.
I think the top 4 teams last year, Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago, Toronto all finished 11 games plus ahead of us. I think all four are better than us again and that we didn't bridge those gaps.
Washington finished 8 games better than us and I think still a better team. Pierce losing will hurt a bit, but I think with development from Porter plus AA, Dudley, Oubre they can mitigate that.
Milwaukee adds Monroe plus gets Parker back from injury.
Celtics finished the year stronger than we did with Thad. They were 20-11 post ASB after acquiring Isaiah Thomas. We were 17-13 are acquiring Thad. They also added Amir Johnson.
So I think all 7 teams that finished ahead of us are still better than us. I think Miami leaps us getting healthy.
I also really don't see how we got better this offseason:
Lost DWill Acquired Shane Larkin
Lost Morris Acquired Boatright or Blake
Lost AA Acquired RHJ
Lost Mirza Acquired TRob
Lost Plumlee Acquired Bargs
Lost Jordan Acquired Reed

Last year they were predicting us to be in the bottom 5 of the NBA, with no shot to make the playoffs. Who really cares. They don't know anything about the team.

I feel like it's addition by subtraction by losing several players above. The biggest loss imo is AA and Mirza and possibly Plumlee.

You forgot to add Ellington. The only significant loss is AA.
Losing Plumlee/Mirza also means we get better defensively. We all clearly appreciate what they bring to the table but let's not act like they were not liabilities in the playoffs. Robinson is the best per minute rebounder we've had since Humphries and Evans. We lose some shooting but address a huge need there. We lose playmaking from Deron but get someone less painfully passive and tradeable. Also, losing a negative presence. It somewhat evens out, IMO.

Mirza was not a liability in the 2013-14 playoffs. He was one of our best players in the Heat series.
Bargs is going to be a backup center behind Brook. He took $500k less to come here at the last minute. I'm pretty sure we promised him that role. Just like Larkin took less to come here and then we saw with buying out Deron why as he now has an expanded role. Barg's is a worse rebounder, defender than Plumlee. TRob is a better rebounder, defender than Mirza. At best it's a wash from a defensive/rebounding perspective.
We got a shooter in Ellington, but that's it. None of the other players besides Boatright if he makes the team can shoot. We lost 3/6 of our top 3 point shooters and gained just one shooter in the process for a team that was bottom 5 in 3 point shooting.

Re: The level of disrespect from the GB is amazing
The only significant loss this offseason was AA, unless you think holding onto Deron Williams for dear life is a sensible course of action.
We may not make the playoffs, but we will field a team of guys who play hard and a locker room that won't have the life sucked out of it by a cancerous piece of trash. We have also gotten ourselves out of cap hell. I'm fine with all of these moves. I will miss AA. That's it

You think Lionel Hollins cares if Bargs was promised anything? If he can't space the floor, if he can't do what Hollins expects, he will sit and Reed will play, or Robinson will be used at center.
D-Will and Brook get benched and demoralized...you think this man gives a **** about Andrea's feelings?

you have to look at it from an outsiders view:
-we won 38 games last year in a weak east
-as bad as dwill is, its still at least a minor setback at PG
-we didnt add any high impact starters or high draft picks
-on paper our starters lookg average-ish and our bench looks weak
-our best player is good but not elite
im not usre it is "hating" on the nets to think a 38 win team who lost a starter might not make the playoffs.

Re: The level of disrespect from the GB is amazing
The biggest drop off on the court by far is losing D.Will but there are other drop offs
D.Will -> Larkin
Anderson -> Ellington
Teletovic -> Bargnani
Plumlee -> T.Robinson
Some improvements
Jordan -> Reed
Morris -> Blake/Boatright
Clark -> RHJ
+
No coaching change
Brook actually working on his game as opposed to rehabbing for the summer
Bogs in his second year
Bogs/JJ/Young/Lopez playing together
Improved chemistry with no D.Will
My guess.. they are in the hunt for the POs most the season, but ultimately fall short with about 34 wins.

The only one that is a certain drop off is Deron. The other three could easily duplicate the comparisons role.

Yeah, I don't see the Ellington/AA and Plumlee/Robinson drop off. Robinson is a significantly better rebounder than Plumlee. Ellington is a much better shooter than AA.

AA is bigger with much better D and a comparable shooter.
He's getting nearly triple the salary at age 33 for a reason.
Hope you are right about T.Rob but clearly Plumlee has more value league wide and probablynfor a reason.

AA is the better defender but he hasn't ever shot anything above the league aversge from three.
Plumlee on the other hand, is he that valuable? We tried moving him into the Top 15 and couldn't land a lotto pick.

Do you think T.Rob and #41 could have sniffed getting RHJ?
Come on now.
As for AA.. Ellington is a slightly better shooter and that's it.
Again, why did he go for $4m and the younger Ellington $1.5m?
I hope you are right, but IMO and I'm guessing the vast majority of the public, they are downgrades for now.

Yea I only go on the GB to crack a few jokes. If I want to actually talk Nets basketball I either come here or I have a few people on Twitter that can hold an intelligent basketball conversation.
The GB is just filled with trolls. If somebody wants to actually talk Nets basketball, they come here lol. Like the Mavs fan whose username is Dirk comes here and seems to understand what the Nets are doing.
