where do you think Jeremy Lin would rank in terms of the most popular current NBA players?

Not that high outside of his fanbase of Asians + Christians, and he has the stink of being on one of the worst Lakers team ever (tanking). The guy is legit underrated imo, but we'll see what he does on the court next season.

I was thinking on a worldwide scale. I'd put Lin in the top 10 most popular current NBA players in the world.

Basketball's huge in China and the Philippines, then you've got countries like Singapore and South Korea, where NBA's still pretty popular. Worldwide, I think Jeremy Lin's very popular and he's pretty popular at home too if his jersey sales number's any indication.

This might be off topic - I'm wondering, I think last year Hornets made playoffs - and during that time, who were the main contributors of that team and what were the main factors? I do recall hornets have a strong defense, did it translate in the playoffs as well?

And then this year - what happened that made them miss the playoffs? I believe Kemba being out as one of them - anything else?

I think you're generalizing a little too much without any factual numbers to back up your statement. I'm not Asian nor am I Christian (agnostic for that matter) and yet, I root for the kid, because he's a good player and nothing like the modern day primadonna athletes.

Is he far more popular among Asians? Most likely yes, but it's far-fetched to assume that he doesn't have a large following outside of those two groups.

I think that's New York because he said the only offer that he got after his stint with the Knicks was from Houston.

the main reason we made the playoffs a couple years ago was Al went god mode and played like a legitimate star player, last season he was probably one of the worst starting C's in the NBA.

we actually had a winning record without Al and Kemba last season, but we always fall off a cliff when MKG doesn't play.

Also, MKG was hurt a lot last year and he is, by far, the most valuable player on the team. During his career, our record when he plays is pretty good and when he doesnt play we are god awful.

Thanks. it seems to be that MKG is one of the key players on the team on the defensive end. I think I recall him saying that he wanted to be a DOPY ? or he mentioned something about being the best at something. Was Al injured last year or he didn't feel like trying?

I feel sometimes players when they are on a team in which they feel 'stuck' themselves they do not want to perform. New scenarios bring new energy. Case in point - any player who gets moved from the Knicks automatically play better - if not the very least, they play harder for the new team. A losing culture does not motivate anyone. I'm not sure if Lin is a good locker room guy - as he is pretty quiet in nature but on the court he is pretty verbal so hopefully that can energize the team (like he did on the Knicks).

What type of player is MKG as well - I know he can't shoot for crap but is he a player similar to Tristan Thompson? Defensive best, rebounder? I'm trying to figure out how he fits on the team. Lin is a good locker room guy because he is supportive with teammates and doesn't pout when things go sour. The only people who would have a problem with Lin are people who are selfish and don't care about anyone else. To them Lin is making them look bad by being himself.

Similar breakdown the season before as well.
