Austin Rivers did not play enough minutes against the Spurs to win them a single game. Even the good game against the Rockets he didn't win them the game, they won that game, they won by 26 points, they would have won the game even without the great Austin Rivers. And if you really think Rivers had any other epic games then I'd like to know what your definition of the word epic is because none of his other games were anything special.
he did won them a game against spurs...and the good game against rockets he did win as well...he changed the momentum of both games...momentum and energy are the key not the stats, cause he made possible blowing out..clipps could have lost easily(as evidenced by game 6) were it not for his momentum changing performance......and those other games where he was not special are also good games...to play solid and not be a minus vs one of the best nba teams(rockets) featuring MVP candidate means you are a BARGAIN AT 3 MIL PER
You honestly think the Clippers would have lost the game if Rivers didn't play? They blew the Rockets out that game, if Rivers wasn't playing CP3 would have just got more assists and Reddick would have scored more points. Reddick was just as efficient as him that game. As for the Spurs game? GTFO
He was most deserving for 1-3 lead of clipps, his excellent play in momentum swinging periods of the game took rockets by surprise and gave a rise to clipps momentum... blowouts doenst mean a thing it simply means the other team stop fighting and is conserving energy.. so player of the game might be a person with a poor stats but strong play in cuople of momentum swinging minutes...learn to appreciate momentum stuff bro...its huge in basketball cause basketball is game of streaks and momentum....
As for the spurs game I am sorry as far as my memory serves me he was key in one game cant remembr exactly which game... it was a game between games 3-6....i just rememebr thinking to myself "this guy is no scrub at all hitting shots making right playetc....... and hes really good for all they say about his daddy getting him the job..." But then i was thinking it was pure luck... then he comes strong and clucth in couple of games vs rockets... and i was thinking to myself.. wow i was right all along this guy have the game because I remember liking him before vs rockets but also remember people ridiculing him for being a bust and since i dont watch him a lot i thought they might be right....
anyway hes a bargain for 3 mil per
Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.
