Look mate, if we get him I hope you are right.

But I know Rick doesn't have any patience for dumb, lazy players and nor do I. Dalembert was exactly what this team needed 2 years ago. A strong rebounder and rim protector. And our record in games where Rick was willing to play him even 25 minutes was essentially perfect. The problem was that Dalembert only really bothered to show up and play hard in about 1 out of every 3 games.

Well JaVale isn't nearly as effective a defender as Dalembert was and he might have even bigger concentration issues. The second he signed that enormous deal with Denver his wheels completely came off. The only hope for Dallas is that this is the last year of that deal and so he needs to rebuild his value in the hopes of getting another long-term contract from somebody. But I think even that is iffy.

You are putting way too much emphasis on PER which is inflated for lots of bigs. Brandon Wright had huge PER's here. And he was a decent player, but hardly starting center material.

Those who love the PER stat would have loved to sign Cole Aldrich. BTW he just signed with the Clippers.

I think Mark Cuban and Doctors are in deep discussions of the feasibility of a brain transplant for Javale before making an offer.

Hard to deny Wright wasn't a beast when he was on the court for you guys and putting up near all star level production per minute. He was shooting like 75% when you traded him and is being heralded as one of the best back up center signings this offseason. I don't know why coaches never give him a real chance to play beyond 20 minutes a game but when he had to last year when Len was hurt with the Suns he played very well in extended minutes. Basically 12/8 and 3 on 65% shooting in 7 starts.

I don't think that it's not that he can produce, I believe coaches just see him as too small and frail to put out there the whole game and as a change of pace player at what 6-10, 210 because while he was blocking shots and jaming stuff at the rim at an incredible rate he was a little light rebounding and holding his block. There is some truth that size helps on defense and Javale has some history putting up similar production but also being a quality rebounder and hes listed at 7-0, 270 and has the size you want. Big difference there.

The Mavs are looking for anyone with a pulse and 6'10" or taller right now.

Hopefully we can sign someone. If not it may be Zaza and Satnum.
The only thing I can say about Satnum is he is very tall for his age.

Wonder what the holdup with McGee is. There must be serious concerns about his health.

we have officially hit rock bottom

I rather play Felton at center than this scrub. Thats right, rather play 4 on 5 than look into his stupid face.

I remember Hollins being on our roster but I remember nothing about him as a player. Did he have any redeeming qualities?

Once in a year he makes a nice play.

Then he celebrates so hard he gets a technical. I'm convinced he is the prototypical net negative player.

Fisher also reporting Dallas is still very interested. I honestly don't get the point. I'm going to be really bitter if all the old guys make the team and none of those kids we signed to 3 year deals do.

It's on. I'm ready for Dalembert/McGee training camp. The NBA should have their Hard Knocks version.

I know it's McGee and expectations should be at bare minimum, but this deal structure is good. If he somehow can contribute... you get to keep him for next season at the minimum and aren't forced to commit to him.

Okay, we shall see who survives camp, we have,

Williams-Barea-Felton
Matthews-Harris-Jenkins
Parsons-Anderson-Wilson
Nowitzki-Evans-Villanueva-N'Dour-Ashley
Pachulia-Powell-McGee-Mejri-Dalembert-Famous

I'd say Wilson, Ashley and Famous have no chance to stay, and there is a spot between McGee, Mejri and Dalembert unless we stretch Felton.

Well... Javale has always needed a good coach, so Ill be hoping for the best... I think hes a better pick at center than Dalembert anyway

What about a 2 or 3 for 1 deal for Markieff Morris to clear up some roster spots?
Maybe Felton, Powell and someone else.

Id say these are the most likely chop block victims.. Not a bad roster considering the DeAndre fiasco royally f***ed us over

I don't think its very likely.. They would likely want a 1st for him included.. And that is too high of a price tag anyway.. I would be hesitant to make a deal for a guy this moody... But hey, we did just sign Javale so I guess all options are open
