Do you approve or disapprove of these offseason moves?
Vote "approve" or "disapprove" on each move.
The percentages will be screwy but we can compare approve vs. disapprove on each question.

Disapprove of Blake for Miller trade and drafting of Darrun Hillard from players available at #38.

The only problem I have with the moves in the poll is Baynes seems like an overpay. I don't have a problem with him on the roster though.

I guess I'm one of those unrealistic, starry eyed, Polly Anna, homers, because I have no problems with any of these moves. Even the money isn't bothering me in light of the shifting pay scales. Morris would be the closest to questionable, given this history of volatility and the legal issue. However, for a 2020 second rounder he's worth a look. I was always in the Johnson camp. My faith in Stan to this point is unshaken.

It's hard to argue with those moves by SVG. Nothing too glamorous but all are very solid. He has been great at getting bargain deals for our scrubs and second round picks. Stanley Johnson is already showing that he was deserving of the 8th pick (but of course still has much more to prove) and the contracts are also great considering the increasing cap. Those deals will also be bargains one or two years from now.

Agree but those moves seemed smaller and didn't make the top 5, IMO.

Approve of all. Hard to see any downside to any of them. They all fit and we filled all our needs at cheap prices and got a potential star to develop in Johnson, as well as a 2011 lotto pick who still has untapped potential in Morris.

Re: Do you approve or disapprove of these offseason moves?
I "approve" of every move but I wasn't thrilled about the Baynes signing, especially with Ajinca being signed for a measly 5 million per year...would rather went after him and offered more. Nabbing Morris and Bullock for essentially nothing? Great move. Getting a solid stretch 4 in Ilyasova at the cost Butler was good as well. Resigning Reggie was a no-brainer, and considering how much money has been handed out the off season the amount is no surprise.
Wanted Winslow instead of SJ initially, but now that I've heard SVG's thought process on making the pick and seen interviews/SL games from Stanley I'd say I approve of the pick. It remains to be seen who will be the better player, but I like Stanley a lot. Really high on him...and unlike Drummond I don't think we'll ever, ever have any doubts about his passion/motor and desire to be great. He wants to be the best player and the league and he means that genuinely imo.
Don't like the Blake signing. I think Dinwiddie is better and some insignificant summer league games wont alter that opinion. Quincy Miller is nothing special but I'd rather him him than Blake at this point. All in all Stan improved the team and brought in players that will likely fit, so I think we had a solid off season.

Re: Do you approve or disapprove of these offseason moves?
I dont really love any of the moves, but I dont disapprove of any of them either. so I voted "approve of" for all.
Baynes fits the system and his contract, while being a little bit exorbitant, shouldnt be an albatross at any point.
getting Bullock makes the Pheonix trade worthwhile to me, even if Morris flames out.
Stanley wasnt my first choice on draft night, but hes doing a pretty good job of proving me wrong so far.
Reggies contract made me cringe a little, but I guess thats just the cost of doing business these days.
Ilyasova was a solid pick up.

Re: Do you approve or disapprove of these offseason moves?
Homer alert: I really like all the moves, I'd have rather had Gallinari, but without knowing what that would cost or what's available, its impossible to judge trades that didn't happen.
I was gonna be happy with either Winslow or Stanimal in the draft, though at the time I preferred Winslow, but after hearing Johnson's interviews and his attitude and work ethic, I was easily swayed. So yeah, I'm a homer and can find no fault with the offseason. Sorry for not being diverse.

I don't see why we had to commit so much to Baynes. He's not a bad player, I just don't get the price tag or years.
Still iffy on the Johnson pick.
Fine with everything else.

Re: Do you approve or disapprove of these offseason moves?
None of the moves maybe besides locking up Reggie quickly is what I would define as "great" if we're being objective. They're OK, nothing to write home about since they're all in mind to develop our young core.
They all have been developmental moves so I'd caution getting excited about them at all. I'm more excited about the potential, but as a Piston fan, I've been burned on that too.
I think Stan will deliver though. He's been good, and as long as we're not throwing away young talent like we did with Knight and Middleton, then I'm good. The Quincy thing was different though.

Re: Do you approve or disapprove of these offseason moves?
That's the key here... the poll simply can't be precise enough.
I approved of all five, but to varying degrees. Ilyasova that cheaply was a 10. Drafting Stanley is a 10 with what I know now, but more like a 6 at the time (glad to be wrong so far). I love Reggie and think he's going to excel, so that's a 9 to me (lower price would be nice, but not likely). Morris and Bullock I'd give a 7, as the price was awesome but I'm still worried Morris is going to be disruptive. Baynes is the closest to disapproval because of the price, but that's still a 6, slightly favorable, because I like the player.
I prefer Blake to Miller, too, because we're likely going to need Blake to play the first couple of months.

Re: Do you approve or disapprove of these offseason moves?
Only fault I think people should worry about is the Baynes contract. I like him as a player. He's huge. But 6M per? He actually might be worth it you never know. You got players like Pekovic and Gortat. They exist and he was from the Spurs. But with that contract you give him an option his 3rd year? Should be a team option if anything. Regardless I won't care until 2 years from now.

really disapprove Hilliard and the third year player option given to Baynes.

I don't really have any problem with SVG's moves except for the Steve Blake trade. He could've traded for a younger backup PG instead. Flat-foot Blake is 35 and doesn't play defense (though i haven't seen him play that much). But as a back up and a stop gap I think he's ok. IDK.

Yeah I don't like Hilliard either. I don't know how second round picks are evaluated. It's pretty tough because anyone can get drafted that wasn't supposed to get drafted (Hilliard). He's pretty bad. Just doesn't play at the right pace, takes bad shots, and didn't show much confidence in Summer League. The difference between him and Johnson is big. That's the difference of a solid NBA player and a D-League player.

Approve of them all basedon repeated viewings of every SVG interview available.
The biggest question marks to me are:
Morris - Stan has stated character plays a big part. Morris has questionable character. I believe in SVG to give him time to get the best out of Morris but it's still a questionable move
Blake the other one, and it's got nothing to do with Miller. I don't see value in him when we've got Dinwiddie and BJ...UNLESS BJ isn't capable of playing at all at this stage.
Everything else I understand SVGs thought process and to me that makes all the difference

He played in a very "offensively democratic" system in Villanova and seemed a nice player, without the talents needed to be an Nba average player. He looks like the typical american player who thrives in european basketball due to his elevate skills and basketball education.
