For sure but we might of lucked into the 4th pick

we'll know a year or 2 from now when his body fills in. He was getting pushed around by guys a lot smaller than him. He already knows how to use his height on defense which is good. Now he just needs to rebound better and get stronger. Has he taken a 3 in any of these games because it seemed like he passed up a couple of shots from behind the arc? (not complaining or anything, I think he should get closer but his 3 point shooting was the reason I thought we drafted him.)

What do you think about his short game. His jumper in the paint is wet.
Remember he is playing center to get used to the banging so it's good training.
Deep threes exposes the defense to breakouts and the Knicks are keeping all these games close and low scoring.

Porz looked great for you guys. Definitely the right pick at 4. Here's hoping for a rivalry between Jah and Porz for years to come. :P

I don't really disagree that we would have taken Okafor if we had the 3rd pick. We probably would have. But IMO that would have been a mistake. I think we got lucky dropping to 4. I'm not saying it's pure skill by Phil or even mostly skill. The draft is a big game of luck.

Australian Shepherds I believe are a cross between a Border Collie and a Dingo with the Heelers(like Blue Heeler) being the more Dingo looking cross version.

What you said about Australian Shepherds is not true at all. There is no dingo in them. They were developed in the US. We have 4 of them. Beautiful, athletic, agile, and highly intelligent.

LOL, I was cheering for the Knicks to lose a close one because today was a learning experience for PK and MORE MEANINGLESS GAMES the better.

so basically you want the knicks and play meaningless games so the learning process will be stunted?

Yes, I wanted the Knicks to play more games because I really enjoy watching our rookies play.

I wanted the knicks to play more games because the more NBA experience KP and Grant gain before the regular season will only make them better as players.

I wanted the knicks to lose only this game because losing can make you better as team, take the undefeated pressure off you and give teams less motivation to beat you. Sixers had a lot today. Sometimes you have to experience losing before you can truly win. Just think NCAA Kentucky, Duke and last year's summer league team.

I wanted the Knicks to lose a meaningless game because it will benefit them in the long run and because I'm smarter than you, it's obvious. :D  8-)

That is where he is most effective IMO, unfortunately he gets pushed out of positions where he can better display his offense. Once he gets stronger and holds position 8-) (his rebounds will go up too). This season all he needs to do is score in transition, knock down the open shot or get to the line, and get 1-2 blocks a game, and I would be fine with that. Everything else will come, and playing along side Melo will give him more scoring opportunities. People seem to be mad that he is not getting enough touches or playing a lot of minutes, but he had the hip injury so I think the Knicks want to be cautions with him (especially with the luck they have had with Bigs in the past, along with all the other injures in the league like Embiid), and these other guys are playing for roster spots so I think our gaurds are trying to get some of these other guys a chance (Galloway has been there before and knows what it is like). Porzingis already made the roster he is good.

A couple of our players (Early, Thannasis, Gallo, Wear) experienced plenty of losing already. It's nice for them to win games for a change.

Winning is contagious and once you taste it, you want more. As a competitor myself, I hate to lose and it drives me crazy. Sure losing can motivate you to improve, but to continue to win, can be a motivation of it's own.

There are some similarities between the two breeds in temperament, intelligence and some markings with the mottling. With the name being Australian Shepherd it implied that's where they were from and I already knew about Blue Heelers since I've had a couple. I guess the Heelers were bred from Dingoes and English Sheepdogs not Border Collies.

George Hall and his family arrived in the New South Wales Colony in 1802. By 1825, the Halls had established two cattle stations in the Upper Hunter Valley, and had begun a northward expansion into the Liverpool Plains, New England and Queensland. Getting his cattle to the Sydney markets presented a problem in that thousands of head of cattle had to be moved for thousands of kilometres along unfenced stock routes through sometimes rugged bush and mountain ranges. A note, in his own writing, records Thomas Hall's anger at losing 200 head in scrub.[41]

A droving dog was needed, but the colonial working dogs are understood to have been of the Old English Sheepdog type, commonly referred to as Smithfields. Descendants of these dogs still exist, but are useful only over short distances and for yard work with domesticated cattle. Thomas Hall addressed the problem by importing several of the dogs used by drovers in Northumberland, his parents' home county. At that time dogs were generally described by their job, regardless of whether they constituted a breed as it is currently understood. In the manner of the time, the Hall family historian, A. J. Howard, gave these blue mottled dogs a name: Northumberland Blue Merle Drovers Dog.[42]

Thomas Hall crossed his Drovers Dogs with dingoes he had tamed, and by 1840 was satisfied with his resulting progeny

Ok, fine BALLBOY- you are smarter than me. You are smarter because you want the Knicks to lose more games when we already suffered last year with a 17 win season!? You are smarter than me because you think by losing we are gaining something? Like continue to build a LOSING culture!? You are a troll for saying that! These guys, especially KP and Grant need to build chemistry and confidence and we aint getting that by losing, especially that KP can't get his rhythm on a minutes restriction. Man!!!

So you're saying it was better for us to lose than coming from behind and winning this game? Really now Ball Boy GTFO and STFU! :banghead:

Do you don't think winning is better right now?
Wouldn't practising against our vets be more productive?

What more do you want to prove? Our young core can play fkn defense. That's all we need to know.
The practices alone are going to help this young core tremendously.

Btw: why aren't the real haters giving props to Fisher so far?

It's easier to hate than it is to give praise.

The only criticism I can give Fisher was the in-bounds play at the end of regulation. That was pretty lame.

Understand.
Porzingis is showing great all around skills: passing, free throw shooting, rim protection, and a smart player not listening to the crowd and taking a flashy 3. This boy can rip it . You see his short game, his stroke is complete.
But the are developing his skills as a rim protection and so far so good.
Him and Lopez are going to be tough to score on down low. Whether a drive or post.
So yeah, they're developing Porzingis' low post defense and he did great at crunch time.

This begs the question, are there any GM's who would have taken Porzy at #3 or higher? I mean, drafting for upside should be what these guys aspire to do, right? A GM would have been killed for drafting Vince Carter or Dirk #1, when Michael Olowhatever was the concensus #1 pick, but within a year or two, those guys would have been praised. (or better yet, you draft Olowocan'tplay and trade him for Vince or Dirk and a couple future firsts and come out looking like a genius).

There's probobly a degree of fear of not picking the concensus guy, and props to the lakers for drafting the guard over the big guy - I think that could work out for them. But, I'm curious if any GMs have come out and said I'd have taken Porzingis with #3 or if anyone thinks there's a GM here who would have. Phil, I think, would have drafted Okafor if he was still on board.
God invented war so Americans would learn geography.
