And yet more Hornets-Lin fan art.

But there is no way to have better stats if you were benched in a tanking team. Kobe had the highest usage in NBA last year with the worst PT% and 3P% as a starter, it is so unfair to blame on JLin for not helping Lakers. The coach Scott never takes any responsibility. Actually, you can credit him for the top 2 pick.

Based on what we have seen so far this summer, it will be a long long season for the Lakers. Russell is nowhere to be ready for the NBA yet. Koba gonna ruin the kid before he has a chance to develop. Russell better get used to getting yelled at.

It's summer league, don't get too crazy over good or bad performances.

Having said that, the Lakers will obviously still be awful next year.

MJ donated to Pelicans owner's charity, that's it really.

Lin-parsons homoerotica, thought I had seen it all. There's something for everyone here. Any pics of kemba groping lamb or vice versa?

I would not assume Lin is just using Hornets to audition for teams in big markets. He seemed to hate the media circus that came with Linsanity. And he has said in recent interviews that Charlotte is the East Coast version of Palo Alto , his home town.

After i watched this video, I understand why Lin joins Hornets - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aieVCFfQrFE
I wish he would find success and peace in QC.

From everything I have read the past few days, this is also the impression I get from Lin. Unless the relationship goes sour next summer, I think a fair offer to Lin will keep him around. That is, unless, we miss the playoffs and the MJ fires both Cho and Clifford (which could happen).

Agreed, I think he actually wants to be here and might stick around for awhile. He likely could have made more elsewhere and actually choose Charlotte. I like it.

Agreed. Lin could easily made more elsewhere. He knows he is being underrated right now. My initial post said Lin is a better all around player today than during Linsanity days. Lin himself confirmed it in his interviews. He has improved in all aspects of his game and no one noticed because he never been in a system that played to his strength other than brief stint when D'Antonio was coaching.

If Hornets can offer him a system that can allow him to flourish, I don't see why he won't sign a long term deal after this year. I think he is very hungry and he will prove all of his doubters wrong. I look for a big year from Lin and I think the fans in Charlotte will love him as a person as well.

Lin played well his first year in Houston due to the run and gun offense but didn't excel because he didn't fit well since Harden is ball dominant.

It got worse his second year because Houston valued a defensive presence next to Harden (who began playing matador defense), and Howard was averse to PnR despite his proficiency at it.

The Lakers episode was tragic because Kobe was also ball dominant (while shooting 37% FG on 25 shots/game) and a defensive liability, Byron Scott preferred a pseudo Princeton offense that de-emphasized PnRs and 3PTs, Boozer and Nick Young were offensive blackholes, and by the end of the year, Scott decided to tank which provided more playing time to Jordan Clarkson and less for Lin.

Why Charlotte should be a better scenario: Clifford and Lin seem to be on the same page in terms of communication, Lin's role, and PnRs. Clifford has ties to D'Antoni so there should be good faith in Lin's abilities. Cho and Clifford seem to understand that the offensive side needs to open up this year. Kemba Walker isn't as ball dominant as Kobe, Harden, or Melo. The Hornets don't seem to have a history of tanking and will compete for the 8th spot meaning there won't be weird benching issues. Other than Jefferson, there shouldn't be a "stickiness" issues. There shouldn't be any pressure on Lin given the small town nature of Charlotte and the fact that Lin's playing on a steal of a contract.

Why Charlotte could still be a problem: Al Jefferson, the #1 option, is still a blackhole. Clifford may not be able to escape his defensive, slow ball tendencies. There's no natural PnR partner for Lin, except maybe Zeller.

So although Charlotte won't be as good of a situation as NY in 2012, it should still be a lot better than LA or Hou. I'm looking forward to the Lin-Kaminsky pick and pop and the fast breaks with Walker, Lin, and MKG!

Lot's of good points. Kaminsky may turn into the pick n roll partner Lin needs. They should be a nice pair of high basketball IQ players off the bench.

Honestly one of the things Im most excited about this year is watching Lin and Frank work together with the second unit, especially after watching those youtube vids of his Linsanity days...should be awesome.

It's crazy. If the Dwill buyout and Ty Lawson DUI(again) happened sooner, Lin might go to DEN or NY.

Good point. Not sure how attractive those situations would have been, but glad we got him before those spots opened up.

Would Lin really want to go back to NY? Seems he was over the media attention.

I think he just wanna get away from the limelight and high expectations period from being in New York hype and destroy machine, to being the extra banana to Harden/Dwight tryna win in the West, to the LA hype and destroy machine. But he better be careful what he wish for. The NY media helped make him who he is today. He don't have a good year here in Charlotte people will forget about him and act like he's barely NBA material. Charlotte is lowkey and that can be a good and a bad thing.
