Maybe Byron Scott and Mad Dog can work out with a real NBA coach so they too can improve their skills.

The only saving grace for Russell this offseason, because that putrid offense certainly wasn't going to advance his game

Byron coaches the practices and let's the assistant coach the games. I think that's a pretty standard practice. Some teams probably let the assistant run the practice as well. But I saw a few coaches watching their team from the stands

Scrap Byron and his stooge Madsen. Have Nash take over the development of our guards.

So does Nash finally feel guilty about robbing the Lakers?

They should hire him as a special assistant like they did with Kareem.

That's nice of Nash to take time out and work with them.

honestly I'd hire Nash in a second. I'm not going full F pringles on Scott yet, though.

I don't think Nash wants the commitment right now. He's got a million things going on.

Certainly couldn't hurt. I don't think Clarkson is a Nash kind of player, but Russell could learn a lot from him.

This is the best news I've heard all off-season, aside from the draft of course.

2 things...

1st: Who's Bill Oram? He's everywhere all of a sudden.
2nd: Why's everyone freaking out over our young guys? Is it because the Lakers really never had to develop any players for like the last 30 years?

We are freaking out because we still have byron scott and his princeton here while every other team have a better coach and organized system. Fire the tank commander scott and his lieutenant madsen because they don't know what they are doing.

Man most teams in the NBA run some form of the Princeton offense fellas. Doesn't seem like this newer generation of players are really into the X's and O's like in the past. They're more into pick and roll basketball and analystics telling them where they should shoot from. I understand there isn't much spacing out there but to me that has mre to do with players being so tunnel visioned on getting offense for themselves. This certainly couldn't hurt for Russell to get in the gym with Nash. I'd also love for him to develop a floater, learn to use his right hand more (notice he always goes and stays left) and work on his handle.

Lets just face it this is going to be a process for our young boys. Randle, Clarkson and Russell are all wet behind the ears. As of today I'm not a fan of starting Russell or Randle. Last thing we need from either is for them to lose confidence and develop self doubt.

Youth and AAU has ruined the pro game. All pick and roll and isolation makes b-ball boring. What happened to running plays down to the 4th or 5th option then dumping it in to a 60% shooting big man when all else fails?

I love Karem but how did he do with Bynum? He ended up with his bad attitude... Thats about it. Nash should just go away...
