I don't dislike the moves as they for the most part upgrade the talent on the roster. I however don't see how any of these moves will be looked at like the Hill for Wallace or 4 bench players for Sheed in the future. These are moves that set up future moves that get us into contention.

My other caveat is that I don't know what FA would have wanted to come to Detroit before the Morris trade nor do I know what other offers for our cap space were on the table. Since I don't know if SVG turned down a big FA or if every FA told SVG to keep walking I don't know what he could have done. Im guessing SVG is going shopping next summer and thins he can lure someone if he upgrades the supporting cast. As it is this team is .500 at best.

Really didnt dislike any of the picks.
Iam wstill wondering whats going on with the steve blake for miller thing was all about, having 4 pgs on the roster. There has to be something else coming down the pipe for that 1,or stan will slide dinwiddie over to sg (who knows). If nothing happens on that move, then that was kinda stupid.Iam not saying I dont like blake as a backup here, put when we already have 3 pgs and are slim at the 4.I would have much rather have miller. If stan makes a trade that sends out one of the pgs for another big, then iam fine.

The Blake trade needs to be seen in light of BJ's injury. He is only now about to start running, and there is every reason to question what he might be able to provide to the team. Achilles injuries are one of the worst that can befall a basketball player. Were RJ, BJ, and Dinwiddie all healthy, then yeah, it would be much harder to understand.

I don't think we made any "bad" moves this offseason. (I put letting monroe walk for nothing in last offseason's mistake pile.) I'm neutral on the Baynes signing - decent player, but the 3 year contract is suspect. We picked up 2 floor spacing forwards for cap space. We signed the pg SVG wanted. The draft is obviously undecided until we see how guys adapt to the NBA, but SJ looked good enough in summer league that I don't think you can call that a bad pick.

On the flip side, I'm not sure we made any great moves. If RJ proves he deserves that max contract, that would be a great move. If SJ keep it up, that might be a great pick. The rest are just functional without a ton of upside past this year. They are more baby steps towards the playoffs than any great leap.
