Is three years standard for second round picks? Didn't Dinwiddie only get two years? Or is the third year a TO? We used cap space to sign Darrun, so it looks like our off-season is pretty much done as we're spending cap space that could have been used to take on extra money in any deal. Reggie should be made official soon.

It's not exactly unheard of for second round picks getting 3-year deals. That's what Dinwiddie got (with the last year being unguaranteed) and Detroit also gave Middleton and Singler 3-year deals when they signed.

This also puts an end to any speculation about Hilliard being stashed in Europe.

Dunno what the dollars and terms are, but they're probably pretty favorable to the Pistons.

most second-rounders sign deals that are very friendly to the team.

Dinwiddie signed a similar contract last year, and I know that Norman Powell of the raps signed a three-year deal with the third being a team option.

essentially he's on the roster this year and we can move on from him at any time as his contract will be of little consequence to cut.

Seems basketball clumsy to me. Showed a decent stroke in summer league, but he has Alot to work on, if he ever wants to hit the floor.

I see him as either a fringe rotation player in 2-3 years, or part of a package trade.

Just spitballing, but isn't John Jenkins still out there? He's young, has a good stroke and wasn't bad for the Hawks. Wonder how cheap he'll end up being.

At the same time you have to wonder why the Hawks didn't keep him. They're not exactly strong at shooting guard outside of a 34-year old Korver. They opted to sign Justin Holiday instead of keeping Jenkins around too. I wonder what the deal with him is.

we have 17 players under contract, there will be moves made to clear those off the books. Normally small deals, but still a chance someone could do something stupid. SVG shows a knack for being there to scoop up the pieces ....kill'em

It's a three-year deal, but only the first season is fully guaranteed. The second year is partially guaranteed. The third year is a team option.

Guy looked aloof out there in extended minutes. His only virtue is his shooting stroke which may translate better than his bodying up college kids and crashing the glass.

So we basically have our Singler replacement, but with maybe better defense. Time will tell.

Well then he'll get plenty of chances to see if that'll translate in Grand Rapids. I don't got high hopes for him, other than being an off the bench shooting and defense.

Perfect contract from the team's perspective. Get him some burn in the D league to see if he develops. If he does, you've got 2 cheap years. It he doesn't, we have virtually nothing committed.

Some are predicting a breakout season next year for Holiday.
