Do they not lift weights in Europe? From what I've seen, he plays pretty physical but there's not exactly a lot of definition in his physique.

In white nationalism
Neo-Nazis use the number 88 as an abbreviation for the Nazi salute Heil Hitler.[3] The letter H is eighth in the alphabet, whereby 88 becomes HH.[4]

EDIT:

Oh wait, we're all good now.

In amateur radio
In amateur (ham) radio 88 is used as shorthand for 'Love and kisses' when signing a message.

The Crazy 88s were the group that the Bride (Uma Thurman) fought in the House of the Blue Leaves in Kill Bill.

Of course it's also the year Bjelica was born but I'm sure that has nothing to do with it.

Yeah I think it's much more likely he's some kind of nazi sympathizer!

Most NBA players work on their game and their body like crazy during offseason. Euros are different, average Euro spents far less time lifting, which is kinda a shame. Off season is seen more as a vacation time, not work out like crazy time.

I don't think those are the patterns that include all of the players. Some players work out a lot during the summer, some rather chill and rest in both Europe and the NBA, but given that the NBA is the much richer and more talented market where staying at the top means having to offer more, of course there is a higher frequency of hard work in the NBA than in Europe.

I'm sure there are NBA stars that don't work out almost at all during the summer and it benefits them more than if they would work out tho.

That's true but in Europe players train way harder during the season than nba players.

I think the obvious answer is his birthyear.

But the ex-Yugoslavian nations have a lot of problems with nationalist pride and quite often there are links to neo-nazism and fascism (Chetniks and Ustase). In the stands of sporting games racial slurs against blacks / jews / homosexuals are unfortunately quite common.

Many players also sympathise with this:

More interesting than Milicic’s strategy in the ring, however, are the prominent tattoos adorning his stomach. The ink is unmistakably significant, and immediately stood out as more of a statement than anything else, especially combined with the fact that he took the ring with a t-shirt that said “Cetnici Srbija” on it – which translates to “Serbian Chetniks”.

Croatia defender Josip Simunic will definitely miss the World Cup finals after losing his appeal against a 10-match ban imposed by FIFA after he made a fascist salute in November.

He was punished by world football's governing body after being captured on video using a microphone to lead chants which were found to have associations with Croatia's former pro-Nazi Ustase

wikipedia wrote:The Serbian basketball player Milan Gurović has a tattoo of Mihailović on his left arm which has resulted in a ban since 2004 in playing in Croatia where it is "considered an incitement ... of racial, national or religious hatred"

So while it's not "likely", it also isn't completely out of the realm of possibility.

You can't be serious with this garbage, over a million Serbs were killed in WW2 by Nazi's and fascist's so your post is extremely ignorant and disrespectful.

This probably isn't a topic that shouldn't be delved into in detail in this thread, but Breatnach posted sources and evidence for everything he mentioned in his post, I don't see what's ignorant about what he's said there at all.

Taking football as an example, there are more than a few prominent ultra groups in that region of the world who have strong facism related views. Only around a month ago there was a swastika mown/burnt into the pitch before a Croatia-Italy game.

Unless it has something to do with Bjelica, it's of no relevance here. No more Nazi talk.

Crazy to think about. When Bjelica made his professional debut, KAT was in 5th grade.

They also play less games.

It depends on competition and how far you go in EL/EC playoffs.Top teams in Europe play like 80+ games every year.Seasons in Europe lasts longer too, 10 months compared to 3-4 months in China where season ends close to NBA trade deadline. Most euro players don't get time off during summer, because you can get max 2-3 weeks off after season is done before you have to get ready for NT training camp which happens almost every season.

A good deal for Wolves...

...now we will they trade Rube/Bjelica/Bennett ---> Rose?
