Kemba played off ball at times in college and he was ok. If he is bad off the ball, then he can create for Jeremy and Jeremy can play off ball. Jeremy has developed into a pretty nice off ball player after playing with ball hogs like Melo, Harden, and Kobe.

He'll have to try and create for others. Watching him play alongside a ball dominant guard like Lance was nauseating. He wasn't good playing off the ball in team USA tryouts, or whatever it was either.
I do think he's going to have a breakout year. We're going to need him to, or were screwed.

He's essentially playing off the ball when Al pounds the rock for 24 seconds. Kemba's main source of struggles.

This is SUCH a ridiculous statement.
Kemba's main source of struggles are obvious. He had them during his years at UConn and his years with Charlotte long before Al arrived. You can't associate his struggles with one team mate when he's had them his entire career. Hasn't mattered what team he's played on, who he's played with or who has coached him.
Kemba's main source of struggles is himself and his ability.
I guess it's just easier for you to pin the blame on the popular whipping boy in Al - even though Al's only played with him a couple of years and Kemba's play has been an issue his entire career.

^^ Kemba limits what his team can do. Fans over value exciting guards who create something out of nothing. What the Hornets need is him to make something out of something.
His consistency in not improving is pretty remarkable. He'd be an ideal 6th man.

Slam trashing Kemba for the 1,000th time. Hold on and let me see if I can act surprised.

Kemba apologists making excuses for Kemba's poor play for the 1,000,000,000,000th time rather than addressing the common denominator (I'll give you a clue: It's Kemba). Hold on and let me see if I can act surprised

So would people take 42.5/34/79 as a slash line and thing it was good?

You mean 42.5% on 15+ FGA's per game and 34% on 4+ three point attempts per game - like in 2012/13 before Al was signed?
No, I wouldn't think that was good.
But nor would I think that his 36.6/30.5/78.9 the year before that would be any good either.

Pretty sure with an actual offense and some help he would not have to take as many shots yet still hit those percentages.

Walker is criticized for shooting too much. But in seasons past, who was he going to look for as the clock ran low? Who was capable of getting a shot and making it? Let the line form here. What line?
Next season Walker will have options, among them shooting guard Nicolas Batum; Lin and Walker’s former Connecticut teammate Jeremy Lamb; big men Frank Kaminsky and Spencer Hawes; Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a practice-court regular with new shooting coach Bruce Kreutzer; and perhaps some surprises.
I ask Walker what fans will see from him in season five. What specifically has he been working on?
He freezes. Only two of us remain in the corner of the gym and he, he, he – smiles.
"The 3-ball," he finally says.

Or his 47/27/72, 40/33/76 and his 42/33/81 during this three years at UConn either.

It was good enough to win a National Championship and have two Final Four appearances while defeating some of the very players that are in the NBA now

Kemba walker helps his team win games. You all stat picking should look at other variables. Have you seen how horrid our offense has been ever since Kemba joined the team? He has bailed out so many broken plays. Hit game winners. Played hard nosed defense even though guarding pgs in this league is nearly impossible. He needs to improve his efficiency yes but he's been the least of the hornets problems. And he was excellent in college. This is why some people hate "analytics". They are numbers that dont tell the whole story but are taken as fact because they are....numbers.
The Lamb flock's vision has come true.

I think that's a good question. If we could put up that line in a vacuum and we win more games, I'd probably be happy with him. Depending on the volume of threes, that would move him into the territory of a decently efficient scorer. He's only had one season where he had a TS% above 50%, which is pretty bad.
Al gets called an inefficient scorer all the time, but he's never had a TS% below 50%. His lowest before last season was 52%.

All solid points why he'd be a great 6th man. Being a weapon off the bench for a good team is valuable. It's an ego thing but it shouldn't be

While Kemba has issues the TS% for Al is not that great. He is something like 45th in the NBA in centers at that last season. A lot is about usage and all that but he is a long way from top tier is efficiency and that is rough for a guy who is completely useless on the other end of the court. Biz was at 57.8% this year and again it was a usage thing but just as a reference.

I think his efficiency is bound to go up this year. In years past Kemba has always had to take difficult shots which included many difficult shots at the end of the shot clock. I think we've got to give him a chance this year because this is the first season we will actually have players that can compliment him well.
