He is supposedly a superstar, a guy like that in his prime should not miss the playoffs regardless of his roster. Chris Paul hauled some horrible Hornet teams to the 2nd round, LeBron dragged a complete joke of a Cavs deep on several deep playoff runs.
Please stop praising Chris Paul. It burns my eyes.
Chris Paul is garbage. He is not on the level of great players like Bryant, or Steve Nash(Sorry had to throw in a 2nd player so I didn't feel dirty speaking positively of Bryant).
Chris Paul has done nothing in the league. All players he's played with that looked good with him, had success and shown to be good with out him.
The NOH teams that Chris Paul lead to mediocrity were not terrible aside from him. He had teams that had David West & Tyson Chandler in the starting line-up, and other good players like Peja. Now I am not implying that those guys are superstars, but those are guys that you combine with true great players and can do some damage in the league.
Chris Paul just this year lost to a Houston Rockets team that is James Harden and nothing. Ok and Dwight Howard, but is Howard even better than DeAndre "no 5" Jordan?
Paul is the most B plus-iest player I have ever seen that has been regarded as a great player.
I don't know. Valid points, but I'd probably take Chris Paul over Kobe. Kobe didn't go anywhere unless he was playing Shaq (one of the best bigs ever) or a combination of Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom...both VERY good players...Bynum wasn't a scrub either. Also MWP and Fisher and Horry both had the super clutch factor...way more than Kobe did.
When Paul left the the Hornets, they won the lottery, and when he got to the Clips, he took a team that NEVER made the playoffs to the second round a few times. He has horribly choked the last two years though in two crucial games, so it's tough. I thought two years ago was a fluke, and I actually didn't watch this year's Houston blowout game so I don't know if it's his fault.
I think Chris Paul is a pretty good leader though, and I think Kobe is an awful one.
Think about this
Steve Nash is wildly regarded as a great leader and was responsible for much of our success during 7SOL.
If Steve would have played for the Lakers and Phil Jackson, with Kobe and Shaq, he probably would have either come off the bench or had a secondary role in the triangle at best. Steve would have never been given the opportunity to become the player he did under MDA and 7 SOL. My bet is that Phil hesitated on coming to the Lakers after they fired Mike Brown due to not wanting Nash on that roster. Enter MDA, who in the end could not connect with ISO ball, Kobe. Gasol and Howard style.
