But the East sucks. It seems like every year some people think it'll be more competitive, but every year there are those handful of teams that unexpectedly regress due to over achieving the previous year, bad chemistry or frequently injury. The end result is that for the past 12-15 years the East has continued to suck and yet somehow this continues to surprise people.

Of course history has also proven that we're just as likely to be that team who disappoints, but I'll remain the optimistic homer and say we actually build on the .500 level ball we played for half of last season. We're going to lose some close games that we probably feel we should win, but we'll also do a better job of beating teams we should beat and protecting our home court.

That, is actually impossible. No one, I mean no onehas picked us, or expects us to do anything of substance.

Disapoint?

The only thing this can do is surprise at this point.

I'm betting if you take the average of fan votes, the average team in the league this year will be projected to around 50 wins.

Everyone overrates their own teams chances.

Hey, keep track of all of them, and update your own first post here.

Could be kind of cool to see the totals.

Yeah, tabulate the polls, average the wins, see how far over .500 the league is, and adjust everyone's record down equally. That should be a fairly accurate metric, I'd think.

Oh, and 41 wins for this season, but with hope for the future as the young'ens improve.

i dont think they will win 60 games but i dont see much difference in talent between DET and ATL.

They won because they all bought into a system, one that is conducive to success into todays game, and because they had the proper personnel to run it. Stans system is not much different and now that he has the right personnel to run, if they all buy in, the pistons could have a great team too.

What we lack compared to them is experience, but Reggie is 25, ilyasova is 28,Morris is 26, Drummonds in his fourth year now. We arent that young anymore to where that should be a big factor. By comparison, when we went to ECF the first year with Chauncey and Rip, they were only 26 and 24 respectively, with Rip only in his fourth year just like Drummond now. i think Dre learned how to win during those two winning stretches last year too, and that experience he got will pay dividends next year.

Will do. Plan on consolidating and posting in GD. I'll post a heads up here. They run three days.

No more than 40.

Offensively, we'll be clicking from the get go. Defensively, there's going to be growing pains but flashing some potential.

40-45 wins. Hovering somewhere around .500 and fighting for the 6th-8th playoff seed. Then taking out Cleveland in the first round. Lol, sorry I started to daydream.

I went with the 40-44 bracket. I don't see any reason this can't be a .500 team. I would gently take issue with the idea that the Piston's youth shouldn't yet be considered a factor. Yes, Morris, Ilyasova, and Reggie are all either in their prime or on the cusp of it, but AD and KCP will enter the season at the ripe old age of 22, and SJ just turned 19. The core of this team is still quite young. I see Johnson as the wild card in this prediction. If SJ puts himself in the ROY discussion, the team could make a very positive bump in winning %.

i dont consider KCP and Johnson to be major factors to whether we win or not, thats why i say that. One will probably be the fifth option in the starting lineup and the other a rookie off the bench. And Drummond may be young but he produces like an eight year vet, able to play with just about any big regardless of age. Jackson, Dre, Ersan, Morris, Jennings if healthy, Meeks, Baynes etc are the guys likely to be the ones leading us victory or not and all are right in their primes or just entering it. KCP and Johnson only need to pitch in here and there around them.

43 wins

We will be above a 500 ball club AND we will have less then 40 losses so 43 is what I'm expecting. This should net us the 7th or 8th seed with potential to make noise all season/playoffs which would be great for our franchise at the moment.

So going by RealGm votes:

Cleveland 60 (only 1 vote) (I'd say under about 55)
Chicago 50-54 (I'd give them 50, they played good even when Rose was out. )
Toronto 50-54 (Patterson and Jonas in the back court :noway: No bench)
Miami 50-54 (Wade, Bosh, Stat and Lou are all injuries waiting to happen. If they can stay healthy throughout the season then 50-54)
Atlanta 50-54 (Carroll swapped for THJ :noway: does Thabo come back healthy?)
Milwaukee 45-49 (Nice young Squad moving up, but Monroe on defense :banghead: )
Indiana 45-49 (losing West and Hibbert hurts more than people think, Hill and Turner replace them. Turner's looking good)
Celts 45-49 (over achieved winning 40-42, I don't see an improvement even with A.J. I.T should start, looked good late in the season)
New York 40-44 (dependent on Better defense improves wins, offense will be slow until All-Star break. Melo must stay healthy)
Washington 40-44 (Nene's getting old (32), dropped from 15ppg-11 and 7.5Rpg-5.5, Same with Gortot. Played pretty good in the P.O)
Charlotte 40-44 (losing Lance and gaining Batum - not bad. Can MKG, Walker, and Zeller step up?
Detroit 40-44 (Losing Monroe hurt, Ilyasova replaces him in the starting lineup.
Orlando 30-34 (Nothing lost, nothing gained, take that back they lost a defender in O'Quinn)
Brooklyn 30-34 (Brook has been injury Prone, Losing D. Will could be a good thing and a bad thing, Andrea Bargnani = bad thing)
Philly 25-29 (Outside of Okafor, Noel, and Embrid, name 3 players on their roster- Go
