I rember hearing Washington was looking to move Nene earlyer (idk if they still want to now)

so i was think waht if we sent them:

Williams roberts and PJ

for

Nene

Cha trades one year contracts to get a big bodied big, to back up Al and help round out the roster

washington gets more depth

Or if we are going for a veteran wing

Cha: PJ-Williams-Roberts (maybe a future 1st or those 2 nets 2nd)

for

GSW: Iguodala

Charlotte gets a veterian wing deffender who can occasionally make 3s

Golden state gets depth and cap relief next summer (and mayeb future picks)

Something tells me that the reigning Finals MVP is not going to be available for a bunch of relatively garbage players.

Would you guys trade Hairston and a lottery protected first for Capela? After seeing what he did in the playoffs when Howard was out I would, I'm not sure if that would be enough for Houston though.

I would even drop the protection a bit but I doubt they would be interested.

The roster is a bit Unbalanced. We still need a defensive big and we could stand to consolidate on the wing. Now that McDaniels is signed I think he's a good trade target. Offer them Hairston, Roberts, and the Nets 2nd. Then use the extra roster spot to sign a true center.

New signings can't be traded until December 15.

I was working on the Trade Machine a few days ago and getting a deal done before December could be tricky. Teams with additional wings we'd target may not want what we're selling, or teams that could use a big don't have tradeable assets right now.

I think Atlanta, Orlando, Toronto, Dallas, Houston, or Philly could be trade partners but a third or fourth team would be necessary. Or wait til December.

Atlanta took on Splitter for insurance in case Millsap left. With them also signing Tavares we might be able to tempt them to move Tiago. Send them Hairston and Marvin and use some of our MLE to sign Wright.

Kemba/Lin/Roberts
Lamb/Daniels/Harrison
MKG/Batum/Wright
Zeller/Kaminsky/Hansbrough
Jefferson/Hawes / Splitter

That's a really well balanced roster if you ask me.

So, with the Tyler signing, and speculation of that indicating a follow-up trade, is there any starter-caliber 5 out there that a team would deal us for Cody? What about for AL + Cody + a pick? I guess I'm trying to figure out a scenario where both teams see value in a different fit based on each team's objectives. Somebody who is content with their D and needs major offense at the 5.

I know...they won't trade their precious Al, and no team will deal for him without seeing the goods. But...any suggestions?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I still don't understand why a signing as inconsequential as Tyler Hansbrough would signal the end of Cody's time here. That would be the equivalent of signing someone like Chris Copeland and trading off MKG because of that. Cody is a core piece. Hansbrough isn't a starting caliber big- or even a third big caliber player. He's fringe-rotation at best.

Marvin to Dallas for a 2nd round pick. (do they have cap space?)

Dallas gets an expiring contract and Marv can backup PF/SF
we clear up some of our logjam at PF

I think that Marvin has a bit more value than that both to the Hornets and to other teams. It honestly wouldn't shock me if Cliff tried to start him again this year at first ... prompting speculation that the team was trying to drive up his value, but really more because Kaminsky will not be ready to start from day 1 as a rookie & #spacing.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

That would be a great trade in Charlotte favor. I don't see how or why Minnesota would accept. It's extremely lopsided

Kaminsky won't start because he's not as good as Zeller.

Right now anyway

I used to have a fixation on us trading for John Henson from the Bucks, but nowadays I wonder what it'll take to pry Terrence Jones from the Rockets
