Can you name me anyone who has averaged 12/10 off the bench in the last decade? Regardless of how many years they've been in the league?

Your vastly either overrated get summer league or under rating the jump to the nba. Dawson lacks technique and fundamental play that nba coaches will exploit. Furthermore nba scrubs will exploit. Dawson is a player that will do well in certain systems and be out the league in others

In actuality... very few Izzo players end up ready for the NBA... Let alone the ones that stay four years...

I agree. (And yes I realize both of us have Michigan logos, and Michigan has had a few not so great nba players recently too... before anyone points that out. And Draymond is great lol)

But with that said, I think it's more of a testament to Izzo getting the most out of his players and getting them to buy into his system.

Reports are now saying Josh Smith has decided to sign with the Clippers.

Yep. They have no cap space and already spent their MLE on Paul Pierce, so Smith is signing for peanuts, and we will get no salary relief.

Not that it really matters that much, just Smith saying "eh, money doesn't matter on these new contracts since I'm still laughing my way to the bank with Piston money".

Man, been a while since I've hated an NBA player this much. Welcome to being my new least favorite NBA team, Clippers. You now narrowly beat out Houston.

That doesn't make much sense, even though it's apparently happening. He's going to have even less of a role on the Clips than he did on the Rockets -- they needed a playmaking forward to some extent, but the Clips already have a much, much better one in Griffin.

This doesn't sound very right at all. There are a fairly decent number of Izzo disciples hat have had solid NBA careers. Of course Green, but multiple other lower recruited players have had great nba careers over time. Zach Randolph, Jason Richardson, draymond green and Alan Anderson Are all on secondary contracts. Eric snow, Shannon Broan and Morris Peterson in the past did. Respert , Cleaves, Bell, Dawson, Lorbek, Taylor, Payne, Davis, and Gary Harris were all drafted. I am sure I am missing many but if 25% of the guys you send to the nba at all are multicontract players you would think that's pretty good. And that's counting second rounders.

Did I forget any?

Oh there's lots of good players for sure, I wasn't disputing that. I meant more so that 4 years of Izzo doesn't necessarily mean ready for the nba, Mateen would be a good example of that. Unless ready for the NBA means being drafted.
I was generally thinking of more recent players too (Randolph and JRich are great). They recruit well, not Kentucky or Duke level, but still well. And given the amount of success and all the final fours, I'd expect a little more than Mo Pete or Shannon Brown.

Now that we're talking about it, I'd be curious to see some stats on Izzo players who were drafted after their senior year vs those who left early... then again maybe the better ones naturally leave early? I don't know. (obviously not gonna be the same type of players as Cal's one-and-dones).

Here's a list, I'm too lazy to go through it all. http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/colleges.cgi?college=michiganst

If anything, Izzo is a miracle worker. He's never been a great recruiter and rarely even tries for the top guys, but instead picks guys that fit his system (bruising bigs, ball control guards and wings) and turns them into better players than you'd expect.

Izzo is a helluva coach.

Lawson's stock has just plummeted. I'd take him if we just shipped Jennings and something minor out for him, that would be an absolute steal.

Agreed. This type of move, is what Stan has been doing since he got here. Sending out minimal assets, for better ones.

I know alot of people don't want "knuckleheads" on Thier team, but detroit is known for having players like that around.

I would do this deal, in a heartbeat. I like jennings, but you don't know what your going to get back when coming off that injury. You know exactly what your getting in lawson. An extremely talented starting PG, who's a drunk, for an expiring contract.

I would do this in a heartbeat.

Gallo about to get 17 mil a year for 2 years. Him, Kanter and Carrol are making Reggie's deal look very reasonable.

I have a feeling the Nuggets are extending these guys so that they're easier to trade for value.

Funny enough, I had that same thought.
