Suns Sign Teletovic

Post#22 » by RunandGunSuns » Sat Jul 11, 2015 3:28 am

The Suns are prepping for a playoff run..and boys knock on wood...but I think with these pieces this might be their best chance just yet!

We can only get better as our youngsters get better, once we make a run this season FA will be taking second looks and with MCD at the helms with secret weapons popping up when called for we shouldn't have a thing to worry about!!!

Well, they're unquestionably dumb, Billy King is probably the stupidest exec in the league. But even idiots are right sometimes. Lets hope this is one of the many times they're idiots.

Um, he was let go because he didn't live up to expectations wanted a long term deal. Great guy, tough SOB but streaky and doesn't provide much defense or rebounding at all. His sophomore season was his only season shooting near 40% and the blood clots thing also had a factor in it. He wasn't worth 4 million. Wish him well, though. He's fun to watch when he's hot.

We'll see. I could name quite a few players who played in the recent history for the Nets under their expectations and who proved their quailty playing elsewhere.

If he can't stay healthy he isn't worth the 4 million, but given what we've seen guys get this year 4 million for 3 point shooting big who actually tries on defense and isn't a complete disaster on the glass... that is a steal.

And, no offense, but I don't think Billy King is good at gauging anyone's worth, he is a master of "buy high/sell low". Its insane to that an idiot like him is still employed.

I wonder what kind of bench unit Tele will play with.
Bled/Knight
Weems
Warren
Tele
Len
That's an odd lineup...what kind of sets will they run. I am not sure how Bled can create shots with that group. Pick and pop with Tele?

Perhaps Tele does better as a open option on a PnR with Chandler and whoever's running the point. Sorta Frye's old bread and butter.

Sounds about right. Len would work really well with that lineup. Sonny and Mirza provide good spacing, Bled/BK would be tasked as the primary slasher and Warren would play a cameo and also be a good bailout option. The biggest issue is going to be rebounding, but if Len can rebound as hard as he is in Summer League there should be no worries.

Yeah I think Len is really going to go after it this year. I think the Chandler signing increases his own personal expectations. I think once that happens, where he knows how effective he's being on D and on the boards he won't want to go back to the bench and will really start developing that offensive game so as to stay on the floor as the PF. If he can work on a mid range shot, **** is gonna get real.

Love it. Damn it's so refreshing having guys like Mirza and Chandler here. Looking forward to the locker room reform.

He'll be well off in Phoenix, there's a fairly large Bosnian community, a few Bosnian/Serbian restaurants and shops too.

You have to love this guy. From Coro.

Armed with a one-year, $5.5 million contract, he feels young again. He is freed from the frustration of trying to play early last season with his lungs at 30 percent capacity, although he didn't know it at the time.

“I feel more joy,” Teletovic said. “I really enjoy what I do. My longtime coach in Spain used to tell me, ‘You run until your heart comes out and we’ll all go catch it and give it back to you.’ I want to give my heart to this team.”

“The hunger for basketball for me right now is unbelievable,” Teletovic said. “It’s like a new beginning. I want to play with high energy and passion. It’s important for me to prove to everybody that it’s me. Imagine me playing now with my lungs at 100 percent.”

“It’s just a different vibe for me here,” Teletovic said. “I feel more comfortable. I definitely can teach these younger guys some things. They really listen when you talk to them. I don’t mind coming to practice. I’m getting up in the morning smiling and excited to come in. That hadn’t happened in a while."

I really hope this guy succeeds here. I would love for him to blossom into our starter. We could ship Markieff away for any type of asset then.

Good article on gravity and why we missed Frye so much. You don't have to score points to help your team's offense. Hopefully Teletovic can return to form and the other team has to respect his shot.

He has such a picture perfect jumper. He sets, catches, and shoots in such a compact way with such a solid base. He should be the star in high school instructional videos. This quote from that article is mind-blowing:

Having a lot of open threes is a testament to really good spacing, while making contested threes is a testament to really good shooting.

Of the threes Mirza took last year with Brooklyn, 91% of them were on catch-and-shoot plays, and only 5% of all his threes were wide open. Since he doesn't handle the ball much and yet had nearly all his shots contested, that means defenses stay with him when he didn't have the ball. But he still gets off the shot anyway. When he was healthy in 2013-14, he made 39% of his threes.

That's interesting. Hopefully he will return to that shooting percentages and we all will soon forget about that punk Markieff.
