Re: Should the Pistons Trade Jennings + Filler for Lawson?
I'm a little concerned how Jennings reacts to having to carve a role around Jackson as the starting and main point guard. I don't think we gave Reggie 80M to compete for the job or play the two.
Yeah I don't think Jennings will take it too well, but that's a great thing for the Pistons! Once he's healthy try and trade him imo. I'm really starting to like the Pistons roster with Josh Smith and Monroe gone, hopefully Jennings. I was never a big fan of them. Even in the toughest eastern division, I still think Pistons get in this year. It seems like people aren't predicting for Detroit to make it this year and people forget the terrible start you had last season. I like this roster more than Boston, Orlando, Toronto, and Milwaukee. Hopefully Ilyasova can be healthy and at least hold it together until next offseason or maybe get something from Jennings/Meeks.
Do Piston fans think people are underestimating your team this year? I feel not many are talking about Detroit, Indiana, or Charlotte who are sleepers that could make it into the playoffs.

I honestly believe Jennings will be fine. He has to have an understanding of the situation, coming off an injury etc.
He wasn't overly concerned last season when DJ Augustin was finishing a lot of the games for I guess the safety of his play.
I feel like the main thing with a guy like Jennings is to be perfectly honest and upfront with him, and define the role you'd like from him from the start, and I have great faith in SVG that he will do this.
He did mature last season dramatically and it was obvious near the end of his Bucks days he needed a change. Sometimes I feel like his attitude stuff is overplayed.
But I guess at the end of the day the only way to find out is to wait and see!
To answer your question: personally I see Indiana as being quite reliant on PG13. So not too sure where to judge those guys at, don't really have a solid read on them. Although Ellis is a huge boost to their offense. Their depth tho?
As far as Charlotte, I see a huge amount depending on how they mesh together. And what do they do with Batum and MKG (assuming they both start).
Personally I don't mind being not talked about.. Means there is less pressure for us to perform, and gives us that underdog status almost.

I really hope Jennings is fine physically and emotionally. He's a pretty mercuial guy and his moods shift with the wind. At the start of the season he was having major hissy fits about Augustin finishing games while he sat watching. He started to adjust to it and play at a higher more efficient level. I'm concerned that if his health prohibits him from playing or limits his effectiveness, he'll slip into one of his funks and sulk.
A moderately healthy and tuned in Jennings could be an ultimate weapon for us off the bench. With the way he's able to get the team flowing in the fastbreak open court offense, we would absolutely blow teams off the floor.

My only real concern about Jennings is will he be physically able to perform. It's the last year of his current contract. He has every motivation to be a good team player. BJ was not a problem to the team last year. Whether he'll ultimately want to be moved or not, if he can contribute I expect he'll want to.

I don't think Ty Lawson should be traded for and hope it does not happen.
