People.
Marcus IS.GONE.
HE.WAS.THE.MAIN.REASON.KIEFF.ACTED.UP.
KIEFF IS GOOD. FOR 8M A YEAR HE'S REALLY GOOD.
Is this really hard to understand?
the guy at the least is a super sub off the bench who knows he may improve with a big C like Chandler now.
Kieff at 8M or your boy Danilo Gallinari for 17M idk tough call.

I guess Markieff is still acting up. Hasn't met with GM or coach.

He also says he wants to play stretch-4 this year a la Paul Pierce in the playoffs.
Oh... and that he was interested in coming back to Phoenix this off-season (it looks like we chose Mirza instead).

That was great to listen to. Thanks for the link. Dudley tore apart Lindsey Hunter in that interview.

Really for 5000 pages of trade and draft threads, there's only 10-20 humans that change anything on an NBA basketball team.
The rest is the illusion of if we get 3 games better by building 10 good trades and drafts, we can go from 30 wins to 60 wins. Never worked like that before.

JD would have been a great vet presence in the locker room and on the court along with Tyson for this team. Kinda miss JMZ as corny as it was lol

Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
Serious question, will the Suns induct Nash in the ring of honor this season? Seems like they have a lot of promotions going on for Nash this season with tickets and clothes. Kinda random.

I guess Markieff is still acting up. Hasn't met with GM or coach.
So Bledsoe goes basically the entire offseason without speaking to the suns and without a contract.....and everything is fine.
And Markieff is acting up because 3 weeks after trading his brother he hasnt been in contact with the suns? He hasnt spoken to the suns.....hasnt spoken to the media.....and besides a tweet 3 weeks ago hasnt said a thing, and he's "acting up?" I'm pretty sure what he's doing is exactly the opposite of acting up.
Yeah, at this point he's probably pissed that his bro is gone. But what would you rather have
a.) a Markieff that speaks to the suns too soon and explodes or
b.) a silent Markieff that composes himself before meeting with the suns, so as not to fracture the relationship
There are many of you hear that a reading into everything way too much. Its almost like the suns' offseason ended without something huge happening via the FA market, so now we have to manufacture this behind the scenes drama and turn it into this soap opera. And the hopes are this soap opera ends with us making a big trade so we have something legit to talk about.
so strange.

Actually, Bledsoe's story is different than Kieff's. It was FA period and Bledsoe was FA, and his agent was bitching. Kieff isn't a FA and he belongs to Suns. Kieff must be a professional, 1 week is way enough to recover from departure of Marcus.

So Bledsoe was professional by not speaking with the suns for months leading up to finally signing a new contract a mere week before training camp opened. He allowed his agent to run circle through the media for months and kept the suns in the dark.
Markieff goes 3 weeks without contacting anyone.....and neither him nor his agent drag the suns through the mud with the media to force a trade. And he's being unprofessional.
Sure, Bledsoe was a FA....but that doesnt matter. He held the suns hostage for basically the entire offseason. The suns made FA moves that they may not have if Bledsoe had at least left communication lines open between himself and the FO.
The point i'm trying to make is that Markieff hasnt done anything. Yet we are inventing this story that involves him "acting up" and being "unprofessional"......when in all actuality he's just being quiet.
Yeah, my tune will change IF he does something significant. But until then, keeping quiet does not qualify as childish and unprofessional. In fact, its the opposite. He's had ample opportunity to "act up" by using social media and the real media as a voice of him being pissed and wanting out. But has he? Nobody is preventing him easily turning this situation south. All it would take is one tweet.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
His last reaction was via twitter. Saying there is a foul game here AND THEN being quiet is not the same thing as saying nothing after that trade and being quiet. He should show us that he can handle the situation and has no problems with FO.

Two things:
a.) if markieff had never tweeted that tweet, we as suns fans, would assume right now that everything is hunky-dory?
b.) if tomorrow markieff tweets that he's excited to be with the suns we'd all reverse your assumptions as to how he feels?

a.) Not hunky-dory, but better. I'd wait for next season to see if he can lower his technical fouls.
b.) If it seems convincing, then why not?

That is not really acting up. McD said he hadn't reached out to him.

You must have not been around last offseason, because the majority here were not happy with him. I always figured he would sign very late in free agency, but there were at least as many people unhappy with Bledsoe as there are with Markieff. Many still don't care for Bledsoe and that probably has something to do with it.

I agree with all of this. I wasn't mad at Bledsoe (now Rich Paul, that's a different story) and I'm not mad at Markieff. People can do what they want in the off season. He hasn't acted up at all. As you said, he is just quiet. I don't even think his tweet was bad. He started off with LOL. Of course he wasn't happy. The guy he spends 24/7 with is traded. He will get over it. I bet a large part of the reason he is being quiet is because Marcus is telling him "F them" and he is trying to please his brother to some extent. Markieff never had any problems until Marcus showed up in Phx.
So I agree with you.

I'm sure if they can win a trade by shipping him out, they will do it. But they won't trade him because of a tweet.

I'm not saying "trade Kieff immediately" or "get rid of him ASAP". I just don't want to see any problems unrelated to basketball anymore and I want all of our players to focus on basketball.

bwgood77 wrote:NTB wrote:Lol why Justin Hamilton?
I suppose they want a 7 footer that isn't a bad 3 pt shooter. He shoots 32-33% from 3, so if he could up that a tad, it would be ok. And probably for injury insurance since both of our centers are injury prone.
I'd rather they just sign Mike James and Josh Harrellson though, but perhaps they won't sign unguaranteed deals.
And since it appears our 2nd Rd pick, 3Pt shooter from last year isn't working out, this type of signing makes sense, and probably spells the end of the Alec Brown experiment. Plus, let's face it, Hamilton will come cheap. Hamilton's stats were quite impressive offensively last year in his limited playing time.
