That's surprising. I always thought he was a nice guy.

Played against Monte Towe (former Denver Nugget and David Thompson sidekick) back in the late 70's. I was taller than him (not saying much really, I'm only 6') but that guy was fast !!

I never played with an NBA player

however, I did play in a pickup game once with a guy who was in the NFL at the time. It was his off-season. He was an offensive linemen...not going to mention his name

anyway, it was a shirts vs skins game. This guy was on the skins, I was on the shirts, and he was 'my man'. So, it turns out he liked to bogart the ball and back into the paint. Normally, that's pretty easy to defend unless there's a big weight disparity which there was in this case. But that wasn't the problem. This guy had about a dozen of the biggest zit/boils on his back I'd ever seen. They looked the size of manhole covers. Big slimy sweaty back...giant flaming volcanic zits...and it was all coming at me in some horror-movie avalanche fashion. I gave ground...lots of it. My friend who I played with all the time was on my team and he kept telling me to "body up"...yeah, right, you body up smart-ass

needless to say, the guy scored a lot

Steph Curry, but he was only like 8 at the time. haha. but he was good.

Also, was living in Portland around 2000. During the WCF the Lakers were practicing at a place called club sport. They let me rebound for some of the guys that were shooting. Horry, Shaw, Fisher..

Then Phil came in and ordered a large tarp to close the practice off to the public. So me, Uncle Jerome ( Shaq's uncle that always is with him) and a reporter named Kevin Frasier played another 3 guys in a pick up game where Shaq started to coach us. Phil must have yelled at him 3 times to get back to practice and put his shoes on. Good times.

Also, played ball in HS with a would be NBA, Reggie Smith who was drafted by the Blazers.

Edit Add: Oh and I used to play alot of pick up games with Mike Dunleavey Jr at the club sport in Oregon.
Cheers. — Mags

Played up to 5 and he beat me 5-1 (we really played because I thought I could beat him). My teammate played him very well and that kid is now a NCAA college basketball coach which was actually my dream lol

I also played against Antoine Walker's and Corey Maggette's teams in my highschool league(before they were pros, not sure if that counts). I stole the ball from Walker once but the guy was really unstoppable back in highschool

You scored on His Airness?? The gym must have gone crazy!

Played with Gordon Hayward back in college(I went to Miami university and his HS friend Julian Mavunga played there my freshman year) he was legitimately 6'8-6'10 and killin it.

Also played against Sullinger and Aaron craft in HS AAU and lost by 47 to them so that was fun

I even went to a sponsored Lan event. Till this day I have never eaten so many Doritos and Redbulls in one day in my entire Life.

Not sure why I found this so funny, but I did

Anyways...I played pickup against Ray Rice a few years ago (guy has tree trunk legs, a bull going into the paint, a freak athlete, and an ego-maniac). Also played against Chris Duhon - he looks as bad as you'd think he would). Also was able to run pickup with the Vandy team my junior year when I was thinking about trying to walk on for senior year (or football) - that was the year we were really good and beat Kentucky in the SEC championship (they went on to win it all with the Brow that year).

Played against a bunch of high level D1 guys through AAU / HS including Kevin Jones (lost every **** time - but once only by 6?) and Sean Kilpatrick (who we beat).

Also practiced with / against a WNBA team a few years ago through an internship I had with the team. Hit a baseline jumper over Sky Diggins and she said I smelled good.

Joe Johnson used to come work out at the GoldCoast FFC - I would always play like super early at 8am and we got to shoot around. He was swacking threes, but he was only a good inch or two taller than me and i'm 6'0. He did look pretty jacked compared to me though, and I'm fairly athletic.

An old girlfriend in high school went to Bermuda or the Bahamas(one of them) and shot around with Kevin Johnson. She said he hardly ever missed and was a real nice guy.

Details?

This is all simply anecdotal, everyone's experience will vary. At my gym, Andre talks excessive trash to his opponents, even to the younger/smaller kids. His crew is very aggressive and will stop the game entirely and hold the ball if they see you taking your phone out at all, strict no-phones policy to prevent pictures or video. You can forget about autographs as well. Also, I have a few friends who work in upper-class restaurants that have told me he tips very poorly/not at all. I simply have not heard of anyone that has had a great experience with him, but this is all anecdotal as I said.

At the end of the day, he's only 21 and likely grew up rather entitled. He will likely get more mature as he gets older.

Short of the part about playing a pickup game with commoners, it sounds like some of the LeBron stories I've read.
