Alan Williams Signs One-Year Deal With Qingdao In China

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Jul 25, 2015 4:08 am

Undrafted UC Santa Barbara forward Alan Williams has signed a lucrative deal to play next season with Qingdao of the Chinese Basketball Association, a source told RealGM.

Williams had a breakthrough performance in the Las Vegas summer league with the Houston Rockets, averaging 20.5 points and 11.8 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the floor in four games. He also played for the Charlotte Hornets in the Orlando summer league.

Williams, 6-foot-8, played four collegiate seasons at UCSB, averaging a double-double in his final three years. The 22-year-old averaged 17.3 points and 11.9 rebounds as a senior.

wonderfull player too bad rockets are too stacked in frountcourt...perhaps in a couple of years morey will get him again
Fact is that momentum in games is a real thing, while not tangible itself, you can tangibly see the effect it has when teams are on runs and how it can dramatically effect the outcome of games when you can generate any momentum.

i guess he doesn't feel comfortable he will make any NBA team
last i hear Morey offer him a contract but he doesn't feel like he will make the team and rather join a team that he has a chance to make the final roster

I get that he might not make the Rockets, they are pretty deep, but there are few rosters out there still looking to sign young players and give them legit playing time. Or at least a chance to earn it

Surprised to see him sign in China, but you can't blame him for taking the security I guess. Don't know what these guys have been through
