Felt like a classic Raptors game... I'll try and focus on last nights game and a silver... okay.

Congrats to Brazil well deserved. Outstanding team basketball.

Good game. Brazil is just the better team. Canada fought back and made a game of it. Love what Brooks and Ejim brought. Hopefully Bennett can make some strides this year in the big leagues. Nice showing from the young fella Murray.

This.

You know what, Brazil earned this. Good for them. Hopefully the coaching staff uses this tournament as a learning tool for August.

I had a lot of fun watching this team the last week. Every guy from 1 - 12 wanted to be here and played really hard. Can't ask much more.

I hope the FIBAs are this easy to stream for us. I assume CBC won't be broadcasting it, so we'll probably have to go to some shady sites to watch.

Brazil was the better team. Let this be a learning lesson for the younger players. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't play like a team you will lose.

I like Joseph, Murray, Wiggins, AB, TT. Young team with lots of potential. The future of Canada Basketball is bright for sure.

Our Gold Medal game was against the US. Regardless this was a great showing. Get everyone committed and onboard for the Fiba Americas. A silver medal gets us in the dance!

I can't say I'm surprised Brazil dissected us after watching them do the same to the US, but this was an entertaining and wacky team to the very end. I kinda wish they got the gold just for the novelty of seeing such a makeshift roster of weird and disparate parts do something no Canadian bball team has done before but in the end we just ran into a well oiled machine. I'm not sure anyone's stock on the team really improved any other than Murray's, but you can't fault the collective enthusiasm these guys displayed while playing for Canada.

I think you have to be crazy to think he won't have a great NBA career as long as he stays healthy and in great shape. How many players his age could get 14 boards in in 27 minutes and shoot 3's and play above the rim like that who don't turn out great? Show me that list!

He has tools, sure. Too bad it takes a lot more than that to succeed. How many players have been as bad as him in their first 2 years and have turned out great?

Other than the fact that nearly all big man take a few years to develop (other than the studs like Anthony Davis),

I'll give you 1 very relevant player who fits that criteria - Paul Millsap

Millsap had an 18 PER in his rookie year and 16 the following year. Not even close to comparable.

Brazil had and easier schedule than us and were more experienced. Brazil basically used the Domincans as a rest game for us while we had to go balls out vs the US. We made a nice run but we were way too gassed because we couldn't give bennett a rest thanks to Nicholson anger management issues. Bennett and Murray both looked very tired in the 4th.

I will make Canada highlights... eventually.... got all the clips ready, just got to cut them..... but I need to get over the pain of the loss first

I learned today that all Brazilians can shoot 3s.

Including Bruno. But I knew that already.

It's hard to think of players that get off to bad career starts and then become stars on the spot, especially a high pick, so I decided to have a quick look at a random year from a few years ago (I picked 1997)... right away I saw a perfect example...Chauncey Billups. It does happen on a fairly regular basis I think.

Another poor example. Billups wasn't great early on, but he was no where near as bad as AB.

Happens with a lot of young guys who don't adjust to the Nba until later on. Just off the top of my head

Joe Johnson
Gerald Wallace
Jermaine Oneal
Steve Nash

Wallace is probably the closest, but he was still better than Bennett.

Bennett won't be a star worth the #1 pick, but could he become a 16/9 type of PF in the NBA - yes

Yeh, he's got the tools, he just need to find his consistency... confidence should be up after this tournament, he looks like he's in great shape and hopefully he's found the right motivation to keep it going.

OT but Drake had a sick verse on his newest song.

"Come live all your dreams out at OVO. We gone make sure u get your bread and u know the ropes. Get my ring and come home like I'm Cory Jo."
