Prior personal connections between FO's have facilitated dealings before. It also helps that the two teams are in different conferences, so helping the Blazers won't directly hinder playoff seeding for the Hornets.

My first thought was, at least we're moving up a bit in the copy-cat game. We used to steal players from the formerly 12th-place West team, now we steal players from the formerly 6th-place West team. :nod:

Then I remembered the Jazz and the Blazers just switched places in the West now that Portland has torn it down and Utah's youth is finally coming together a bit. So...we're pretty much still gonna covet players from the 12th-place West team. :banghead:

Apparently Hendo had a procedure done a couple weeks ago known as a "left hip debridement arthroscopy." (h/t to Plowright)

I remember Amar'e Stoudemire having had anthroscopic debridement as well (among a whole host of other surgeries). It's not a positive thing, since it seems to be the sign of a breaking down body with lots of miles on it that needs maintenance.

Hendo's previous hip surgery was to correct a torn labrum in his left hip back in 2011. Don't know whether that's related to this.
