I actually wish SVG would play our core guys bigger minutes. That was one of my nitpicks about his coaching last year. I want Jackson and Dre to average at least 36mpg. 38mpg is a bit much imo. I don't want our guys to be run into the ground and injury prone like the Bulls were under Thibs coaching.

Varejao averaged 14.4 in only a 25 game sample. The most I see Dre averaging is 15rpb. Hopefully, I'm wrong and he does average more but I try not to be a homer and just assume our players are going to put up historical averages.

He's already put up historical rebounding numbers. I mean yes I get not wanting to be a homer but it's also just as annoying to down play you're own players to avoid being one. Drummond is not just a good rebounder, Hes a great one that's pretty much on pace to possibly be one of the best ever.

I agree. I had him averaging 14rpg. I'm just taking a more conservative approach. That's all.

Well hold on a minute here. I am pretty sure I clearly stated that if Drummond got the minutes, he would average those numbers, as statistical data supports it.

Hell, if Drummond averaged 48mpg, like wilt chamberlain, he would average well, wilt chamberlain numbers.

It's all dependant on mpg. If Drummond plays 40mpg, he will get 18rpg, or more.

If that's all Morris can average as a starter than expect Stanley to take his spot quick!

Andre Drummond is the best offensive rebounder ever! Think about it

I think Stan plans on playing Drummond less. He signed Baynes to be that 18minute a night guy. Drummond needs to play as hard as he can and then come out for a breather. Too many times last year he would tire out and get a stupid foul or not run back down the court. If he played 30 a game and went 100% he'll put up better numbers

Before I start, remember, I'm not attacking you, but your post.

I wish some people here, would actually have some form of explanation for thier post. On occasion, an opinion is fine, and cool, but sometimes like your post here, you didn't even quote any particular post to use as an example, and you said most. Which ones? Why do you think they are bias? (I assume you meant biased?)

Most means alot, and bias(ed) means you have a problem with alot of the posts in this thread. Please explain why, so some form of rebuttal can take place, otherwise it's a one off comment, with very little context that anyone here could possibly take issue with.

This is why the general board is a nightmare.

Is there really a point to attempting to predict our players stats?

So, in essence your saying Drummond will not be playing more minutes this year?

See, last year, Deandre Jordan averaged 15rpg, at 34.4mpg. Per 36mpg, he averages 15.7rpg.

Last year drummond averaged 13.5 rpg, at 30.5mpg. Per 36mpg, he averages 15.9rpg.

Deandre Jordan had 13 20+ rebound games last year.

Andre Drummond had 11 20+ rebound games last year.

I'm saying, now that Monroe is gone, Drummond will be averaging more mpg. If he averages 36mpg (I think it will be closer to 40. Around 38mpg)he absolutely will average 16rpg. If it is indeed 40mpg, he would average 17.7rpg.

So, he will come damn close to that 16rpg if he gets more mpg, unless you think he will stay at, 30.5mpg.

Drummond could definitely average 16rpg. That's why some of us(and SVG, clearly) have been so damn excited about him. There isn't another player like him the league. DeAndre Jordan is a "poor man's Drummond", and it'll become more and more obvious as Drummond grows up. (+ the team is DESIGNED FOR HIM NOW)

Hey, if your a stat guy, numbers right after winning, mean everything. (Not the stupid made up ones, but actual stats)

It's after great way to break down everything, including coaching. Casey in Toronto had a lineup, that played during the year, and it was by far and away his best. He didn't play it once during the playoffs, and they got swept. That tells me, point blank, he is a terrible, terrible coach. Yes the Raptors are bad defensivly, yes they players they have are so, so. With that said, numbers tell us Casey is an idiot.

Yay! Numbers!

Was about to post my own, but this prediction is right about in line with what I expect. I think Stanley will probably pitch in as well with about 9-11ppg/3-4rpg on something alone the lines of 44/33/70.

Ideally KCP would do better than that in terms of percentages though, this is the year he needs to become more consistent and start to string together those flashes and shoot 36-38% from deep like the shooter he was advertised to be coming into the NBA.

If KCP just plays on the road, like he does at home, that's a huge improvement. Look at the difference;

HOME

PPG 15.5
RPG 3.1
APG 1.4
SPG 1.1
T.O. 1.1
BLK 0.3
FG% 44.5%
3P% 39.4%

ROAD

PPG 9.9
RPG 3.1
APG 1.2
SPG 1.1
T.O. 1.2
BLK 0.2
FG% 35%
3P% 28%

That's an insane difference, and is purely mental. It's like 2 completely different players. So half the year he was a deadly 3-point shooter, and reliable scorer, the other half, just terrible.

One thing that is strange though;

HOME

FT% 67.3

ROAD

FT% 74.5

Pope was a hell of alot more aggressive at home, and he needs to do that on the road.

With a better offense Drummond is probably getting less offensive rebounds

Also without our offense struggling as much some former offensive rebound opportunity will actually go in the bucket.
