You.. did not.. just say.. THAT?!? :banghead:

He is known for exactly that, his defense. He locked down James Harden last year in Spain, made him 1/10 in 1st half and 4/14 total.

You can say whatever you want about him, but he is a great defender. Watch some games and then comment. In every team he played so far, he was the player to take over the best backcourt player from opposing team, for a reason.

Maybe he was known for defence in Slovenia but I must agree with Marty he seemed very slow/heavy footed when he played for us. I love defense and I wasn't impressed with him.

yes we was a GREAT defender in this league, so great that he got minutes over Beasley, Walker, TJ, Rio, and Ennis on a team that couldn't make the playoffs in the EASTERN CONFERENCE. oh wait... haha are you kidding me dude? If someone is such a great defender then they can surely get minutes over those guys because their defense should outweigh their offensive deficiencies (especially in a system that values it as much as we do). But no, he did not get any time over our D League call -ups here OR in Phoenix.

You saw one game where Harden struggled, congradulations... but truthfully Zoran is a slightly above average defender in this league at best. More than anything he's a pesky high energy hustle guy. Don't get that confused with elite defense. Next thing you're going to tell me is that Dellavadova is an elite defender too lmao

Zoran doesn't even fit in any of our more prominent lineups because he can't hit a 3 consistently, isn't a playmaker, nor does he play very good defense. Instead we're opening up a roster spot for Richardson who is already a better prospect than Zoran for our particular system, considering that he is 3 years younger.

Sure we saved some tax money, but if you can't see the basketball side of the decision and how it actually improves our depth chart than you might just be playing favorites here instead of logically looking at the fact that we merely switched an end of the bench prospect for another more promising prospect.

Zoran is a very good defensive plyer. And dont tell me only in europe. Where did you actually see him play in nba. He didnt get a chance. Nbdl doesnt count.

If DBZ were a "very good defender", he'd be a rotational player. He's decent but not good enough to offset his lack of overall offense. All-defense players are very good defenders typically. DBZ is not there. Maybe he can develop into one down the line, but I don't see it. I really hope he improves like his brother did.

So where did you see he was a good defender in the NBA?

So whete did you see he wasnt? In the world chips he constantly defended all the best opposing players and limited them all. And dont tell me harden had an off game(he did but none in the nba can stop him). He also locked down francisco garcia who was a leading scorer of the tournament. And do you really believe that he would earn a spot on rotation just by defending. Its never that simple. Goran would actually say everybody hated him during practices cause of his pesky defending. But ok he is not a good defender cause he is white.

Hey man, you are clearly Slovenian and a big Dragic supporter. That's cool, I understand.

If you want to believe that both Phoenix and Miami have had him on their rosters and seen that he's a great defender and then cut him please go ahead. Miami more than most teams honour defensive play. If he was as good as you're saying he'd make a 15 man roster. He hasn't. Looks like he won't at Boston either.

I can only make claims about the defense that I've seen and that hasn't been that good.

I still believe he cant make rotation due to his lack of shooting ability not defensive skills.

Look at Andre Roberson, look at Thabo Sefalosha. Those aren't even considered elite defenders like Middleton, Tony Allen, or Draymond and they still see the court despite their offensive handicaps. A franchise like the Heat values defensive talent more than most and you're saying they can't see a top defender in the league when they see one on their own roster? I'll give you he's a pretty decent prospect in that regard but not much more than a prospect at the moment tbh.

Being assigned to a team's best player in an international tournament is way different than all the intricacies and stamina it takes to be very good over an 82 game season.
