No I don't believe he had verses written for him because nobody has any evidence that he has had that done for him. He may have had some hooks written which doesn't bother me in the least and a line here or there may be altered but, again I don't find that to be that egregious either no matter who did it be it Nas, Jay, KRS, etc.

Nikelaus F (in a Complex interview) mentioned that he wrote verses and hooks for him and he's no random guy.

http://massappeal.com/nickelus-f-on-working-with-drake-ghostwriting-and-triflin/

He straight up denies it in an interview 6 days ago and even backs up Drake in a battle with Meek.

There's something that people are missing.. Cassidy mentioned Meek directly.. Drake didn't mention him and Flex directly.. Drake snitched on himself man and I don't understand why ppl are missing that..

I don't get how Drake snitched on himself. Please enlighten me. Although I don't think it's as cut and dry as Illmatic is making it seem. Mainstream heads don't know who Cassidy is and honestly probably never heard of that beef so Meek doesn't lose record sales losing to Cassidy. There was only upside with that beef, if Meek beats a legit battler like Cassidy in a beef war it only raises his credibility with hardcore hip-hop listeners, if he loses (which he did by far) he still had Ross and MMG backing him so he was going to sell regardless. If he loses or honestly even makes it debatable on who won with Drake the whole world is going to know. It could ruin his career way more than Cassidy ever could. There's some serious risk here for Meek, more than simply Rapper A is better than Rapper B.

With all that said, Meek has to release something now and I don't think he's afraid to but, being backed in a corner like he (mainly Flex) put himself into is never a good look in a beef like this. You end up rushing things out of desperation and pressure. Drake now has total control of this beef and all he did was put out some average subliminals. Like I've said before Meek is not smart, Drake is.

Read the first verse.. he says "N****s snitchin on us without an interrogation, basically meaning he has ghostwriters..

 I might be wrong, but isn´t he alluding to the opposite? Like how are you going to snitch on me without even talking to me about it/questioning me to find out whether or not it´s true.

And they asked Nikelus F. regarding the "ghostwriting" in 2010- here's what he said..

Complex: Oh, so it's like sometimes you might help write a hook, or if it's part of the verse you might help start off a verse, or write some of the verse?

Nickelus F: Yeah, I've done that. I know the rumor going around. I don't want anything I say to be misconstrued. I helped out, you know. [Laughs].

Complex: So anyone who says, "Nickelus F writes for Drake" would be mistaken?

Nickelus F: Yes. Have I done work here and there? Yes I have. Do I write for him on a regular basis? No. Have I written for him on a regular basis? No.

Complex: But you have written for him before?

Nickelus F: Verses?

Complex: Yeah.

Nickelus F: Yes, I have done a verse. Not a bunch of verses. I have helped out with hooks and one verse in particular. But I don't write no verses for him.

Complex: What was that one verse in particular?

Nickelus F: I don't want to say! [Laughs].

Complex: Was it well known?

Nickelus F: Yeah, it's well known. I don't know if I necessarily want to put that out there. That's my homie at the end of the day.

Complex: Could you say what project it was on?

Nickelus F: Yeah, but it would kind of give it away.

Complex: Wayne spit a Drake verse at the Grammys. People know Wayne writes his ****, just like people know Drake writes his ****. If there's a verse that he spit that's yours, or that you helped him with, it's not going to be like, "Oh my God! Drake doesn't write anything because Nickelus F wrote one verse for him."

Nickelus F: Well, it was on the So Far Gone retail version. I'll just say that much. I don't want to say what song.

Complex: Was it "Fear"?

Nickelus F: No, it wasn't "Fear." I ain't have nothing to do with "Fear." I ain't have nothing to do with anything new that he's working on.

Complex: Are you credited on the liner notes?

Nickelus F: No, I am not credited. Not credited yet. We're working it out though. We talked about it.

Complex: It wasn't anything on "Best I Ever Had" though?

Nickelus F: No, it wasn't anything on "Best I Ever Had."

Complex: "Successful"?

Nickelus F: Nah, I didn't do anything on "Successful."

Complex: "Houstonlantavegas"?

Nickelus F: Nothing on "Houstonlantavegas."

Complex: "The Calm"?

Nickelus F: Nothing on "The Calm?"

Complex: "Uptown?"

Nickelus F: Nothing on "Uptown."

Complex: It's got to be "I'm Goin' In" then?

Nickelus F: [Laughs]. I didn't say that.

The dude is changing his tune now because Drake is holding the cards now.. If he's flip flopping then you can't trust him..

So Kanye is already better than Biggie, Kendrick is better than LL, Ghost, Rakim, Mos Def already.. wow..

Kanye has a way longer career than Big ever had what do you mean "already"? He has double the amount of great albums Big does. Kendrick is 2.5/3 with producing classics as far as his albums go (ToPAC is iffy) with another amazing mixtape. So what if he's new he has just as many/nearly as many great albums as Mos (who has 3 and 1 collab), LL (who has 4 at best), and Rakim (who has 4) and his best is better than theirs. Just because he's young are you going to ignore how he has 3 radically different albums that are all objectively great?

It's cool though the second you mentioned Ye being "already" better than Big despite having a decade plus in the game while Big had 3-4 years (and less albums than K. Dot but ooooh how can you pick Kendrick) you exposed yourself as a old head that just doesn't like anything new. That's cool but don't act like I'm crazy for being impartial to newer artists.

Andre 3000 is an interesting case and I get that. I mean he really has no solo albums and I contemplated putting Outkast in that spot but 3K's features are a major reason why he ranks so high. S/O to Pusha T and Q-Tip who were all in contention at 15.

Dude i'm only 25, but thanks for calling me an OG. No one had a bigger impact than BIG, that's why I only put Jay or Nas over him (you can argue Rakim, Kane, KRS or Pac as well). In addition, how can we put Kanye who never wrote all of his material over a guy who single handedly had the biggest impact period. BIG changed the game so many ways, yes more than Ye. Btw I like Kendrick but it's too early to put him over LL, Mos Def, Ghost and Rakim who have had longevity and the resume to match. You can't even put Kendrick over a guy like Scarface, Common, 3000 and others. And how Pac is not in your top 15.. wow!!

I was calling you an old head in a bad way because your list looked like it was made 15 years ago.

I mean seriously none of those guys dropped their first album in the last 15 years and rap has only been around for about 35 years when you think about it and its only been in the mainstream ffor30 years at best (thanks to Run DMC). You're like someone ignoring Jordan and Shaq for Mikan and Cousy. Like I said if you don't place Ye that high because he has writers that's cool but his songs and albums are amazing. And speaking on influence Ye is one of the most influential artists ever and does influence matter like that? I mean Cassidy and Lloyd Banks kickstarted punchline raps and modern day battle rap and no one puts them on any lists.

And Kendrick has just as much longevity (if not more) than Big. What's wrong with putting a guy with 3 classics top 6? It's not common someone is this good this early I'd say he is the only artist I can think of other than Kanye that released 3 classics to start his career and his first two are right up there with Lupe's, and Biggie's (Nas' first two albums are on another level).

Wait Pac has more than 2 classics? News to me. Fact: Tupac is the most overrated artist (not just rapper) ever.
Fact: Tupac has not only just 2 classics but only 2 good albums.
Fact: Tupac has a lot of good songs but on half of them he has terrible features with terrible verses.
Fact: Outside of All Eyez On Me none of Pac's albums were critically acclaimed until after he died then suddenly he became the GOAT?
Fact: I've checked Usenet and Pac wasn't even seen as the best West Coast rapper back then I mostly saw Cube named as the best.
Fact: Tupac never had album of the year or was really ever in the top 2.
Fact: T.I. has just as much critical acclaim as Tupac did before he died.

You're buggin. You can't blame an artist for getting killed...Tupac is a goat no matter what you wanna think. He was the type of artist who would of had longevity. And how the hell are so many people putting LL cool J on their lists? He was and is garbage.

Return to New York Knicks
